The only way to solve this issue is to extract the seat and inspect. The front and back movement is different from the other actions that the seat may be able to do...
Look for damaged, dirty and miss aligned track components.

Hi there, You can try disconnecting the battery wait ten minutes and maybe everything will reset. Best thing to do is buy a Haynes or Clinton's repair shop manual at your local AP store for your particular vehicle. Then read up on it in the trouble shooting section or the step by step RR section. You can purchase these at your local Auto Parts store or buy them on line at ebay burdfrenzy

give these websites a try www.alldatadiy.com and www.autozone.com if all fails stop by your local Lincoln dealership in the parts department and they be able to print you off the pictures and diagrams you will need it sounds as if there is something stuck under the seat are you have a bad motor wish you the best of luck Michigan Man.
