Often times if you fix the cig. lighter (replace fuse) you will be able to read obd. uses power from that fuse to power up scan tool. make sure no pennies or anything in cig lighter blowing the fuse.

We are having issues with our obdii connector. It will not connect to the state computer for inspection (we have tried a few different places).

IT IS A COMPUTER. YOU WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE IT TO SEE IF THAT RESOLVES IT THEY RUN ABOUT $40.00 FROM A JUNK YARD. RECOMMEND YOU TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP AND HAVE THEM DO A DIAG ON IT. THEN YOU WILL KNOW. THEY ARE A PAIN WHEN THEY START GOING OUT. GOOD LUCK.

I can not get power to the obd port for my 1997 mitssubishi gallant. what do I check?

The OBD port runs off the lighter fuse.Get that fixed and you will probably have power to the port. The black fuses are diodes. One for the PCM, the other for the A/C.

What could be causing my obd not read anything for inspection

The power for the OBD is powered by the same fuse as the cigarette lighter, check that fuse.

The cigarrette lighter does not work anymore so you can't plug in your GPS.

you can buy another portable plug for you gps or you can buy another lighter plug and install it. It is not to hard to do just make sure you unplug the car battery first carefully and make sure the red stays away from the black concerning the big battery...

My cigarette lighter won't work. Either the unit is burnt out; the fuse is blown or??? I need to fix this as I need a place to plug my cell phone/computer charging stuff. Any help is gr8!

if you don't need the lighter itself to light up cigarrettes, then get rid of the lighter and using a test light or meter, make sure there is power inside thesocket where the lighter plugs into. if power is already there, then your done and ready to go, if power is not there, then check for an open fuse in your fuse panel...some lighter go directly to the battery, in that case make sure that the wires are not broken somewhere between the lighter socket and the battery

Interior lights not on when I open the door

fuse was out for the lighter--heat may be a thermostat-will find out--no solution for the light situation, yet.

Cigarrette lighter wont work

using a test light touch each side of all the fuses one at a time lift seide then right side of fuses. if power on only one side then bad fuse. this fuse should be the same as the radio or acc fuse. also check power to the back of the socket as this connection sometimes burns out.

Ps dont forget to rate the solution. Thanks
