Question about 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE

My 01 Pontiac Grand Am SE sounds like a small airplane while driving.The sound is increasing upon exceIleration. had a similar prob last year, except that the sound would subside when making turns. I replaced both the Driver & Pass side hub assembly. Can yah help me please. The noise is driving me crazy!

The noise is a wheel bearing , turning left to right should isolate wich side , the niose will increase on the noisy bearing side

01 grand am. Horn sounds really weak. What could be the cause?

The horn itself occasionally they too go bad and need to be replaced, however on occasions the electrical connectors to the horn assembly may have a bit of corrosion on the positive and ground contacts causing the weak feature you describe.

A whirling, humming sound that increases with acceleration

if the sound increases with vehicle speed, it is a drive issue, like wheel bearings or front wheel drive gears. if it increases with engine rpm, it could be a bad engine bearing, alternator or water pump.

Sounds like air in fuel line. Purge fuel line. By "crank", do you mean engine spins but won't catch? Try starter fluid in intake.

If I recall correctly, this vehicle is front-wheel drive. If so, have a shop (or if you can your self) check the drive axle that delivers power from the transmission to the front wheel. A boot could be ripped.

Your symptoms sound similar to what happened to a friend of mine's vehicle. The sound would come and go.
