So, it's the injector circuit. There is a 10 amp injector fuse in the fuse block, on left side, 4th one down. Check this fuse. It supplies constant power to both injectors, on the red wire to injector 1, and a white wire splice from this to injector 2. A steady 12 volts anytime key is in on, run, or start. You can check this with a test light or voltmeter. Ground the test light and probe injector connector's red wire on injector 1, and the white wire on injector 2-both should be hot with key on.
This may be why the noid light didn't blink. The noid light must have this steady power signal, and when the computer internally grounds the injector ground circuit for a split second, you get injector pulse-or a blinking noid light.
You can check the ground circuit separately with a test light also for each injector. Place the ground clip of test light on the POSITIVE battery post, and probe the blue (ground) wire on injector 1, the engine must be cranking over, and the test light should be blinking. Do the same for the green wire on injector 2. If the test light is blinking on both ground wires, with engine cranking-the ground circuit is good. You are sending power down the ground wire to computer, and when the computer grounds the circuit, the tester will light up-it will blink because the computer only momentarily grounds the circuit to cause pulsing of the injectors.

look for a bad ground, you can try running a new ground from the battery to the body, i had an 89 corsica that would not fire until i ran the new ground wire.

hook up a fuel pressure gauge and run it check the fuel pressure let it sit with the gauge on it let sit for a little while and see if the fuel pressure drops off

if it dies when u put in gear i would try unpluging the harness on the transmission could be ur torque convertor solenoid lock up ........ other wise i have injectors tested

I have a 94 chevy van g20. it has the 5.7L TBI. im having an issue with getting to much fuel to one of the injectors. If i turn the key one click foward to the on position, the driver side injector starts...


You have a wiring problem on the control side wire . One wire will have B+ voltage the other goes to the PCM- engine computer . The engine computer suppy's a ground when triggered by cam sensor . Your problem is you have a bare wire touching ground making the injector fire all the time the key is on ! Check the wiring harness from the injector to the PCM for rubbed through spots !
The PCM must be inside the passenger compartment under the right side dash or behind the right kick panel . I would check the wires that make the injector function to see how much power is going to them (using a multimeter). Now check the wires on the injector that is not working and see if you have power there. If you do then you have a bad injector. I don't think you do since you said that you switch wires and you are getting fuel at that injector. Check your wiring harness for shorted out wires. It doesn't make sense for one side to be working and the other not to be. I don't think it is a problem with your ECU, but it may be. See what colors the wires are going to your injectors and trace them back to the ECU, a wiring diagram would help. You need to check to see if you are getting power from the control module to the harness. I believe, however, you are experience a shorted out wire somewhere in the harness. That is where I would start. If you confirm you are getting power to the control module, but you are losing it somewhere in the harness it may be easier to just run a new set of wires instead of tearing apart the harness.

You may have gotten a gas can full of water ( not literally ) but there was plenty of water to make a difference. Check the fuel filter I would completely drain the fuel tank and blow out the fuel lines. Is this a multi port or throttle body injection ( you may may want to clean your injectors ) ANY WAY CHANGING YOUR FILTER SHOULD SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM GOOD LUCK !!

Fuel pump wiring diagram 1988 chevy truck


I personally have 1988 GMC truck and had to replace the fuel pump. I found all the info including wiring diagram in a haynes repair manual. These can be purchased in most automotive parts stores. Something I found interesting is that the fuel pump's operation works through the oil pressure switch, located by the distributor screwed into the engine block. If this switch is stuck or sticking it will affect the fuel pump. Replaced a good fuel pump for nothing! The truck had sit up for awhile and the ground wire connections had to be cleaned as well.

WET PLUD W/GOOD COMPRESSION IS USUALLY NO SPARK.YOUR ENGINE HAS 3 IGNITION COILS.EACH COIL CONTROLS 2 SPARK PLUGS.TRACE THE WIRES FROM THE BAD SPUGS BACK TO THE COILS .IF THEY ARE THE SAME COIL THEN U HAVE A BAD ONE OR CONTROL MODULE(UNDER COIL)
