Question about 2004 Chevrolet Suburban

3 Answers

I have a 2004 Suburban. The (factory) radio (with multi CD player) was replaced with a new factory original radio and programmed by the dealer due to a vehicle theft. Works fine, except that the key fobs will no longer automatically select the pre-programmed stations (i.e. for Driver 1 and Driver 2). Any ideas on what might be wrong or how to fix this?

Extra credit if you actually have an answer that fixes the problem.
No credit if you just repeat the question. ;-)

I assume that the vehicle controller receives the keyfob 'unlock' and the controller then tells the radio to switch to the 'Driver 1' or 'Driver 2' presets. I am looking for the reason this is not working. For example: "Get the dealer to set the radio parameter X to ..." or whatever.

Are you saying that there is a separate programing step to get the keyfob to control the radio?

Perhaps go back to the dealer and make sure it's the same replacement. and failing that ask them to reprogram the key fobs or "sync" them to the radio.

The ketfobs need to be programmed to the new radio which could be done when the new radio was programmed. I would go back to the dealer that programmed your new radio to your vehicle and they can use there Tech2 to program thru the body control module.

Keep in mind that the "personalization" feature when the car is equipped with RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) allows the radio to remember uniquely for each key fob: AM/FM1/FM2 station presets (EQ and tone control for each), last loudness level and last audio source on (tuner/cassette/CD). Each key fob have one unique code, then each key fob have the unique preset station radios.

If this work isn't finish, your could visit the delaer to end the reprograming process.

Hope helps.

Replaced battery on 2002 chrysler sebring now i have no sound from radio

Believe it or not, lots of people on the Chrysler Forum have had the same problem! One guy said, "I have a 2004 Pt cruiser with a factory Mopar radio and 6-cd player. I disconnected the car battery for about 2 hours and replaced it with a new battery. Following that the Mopar radio doesn't show the Cd-player as a selectable option.

I found this statement in a ebay listing for a sound shop selling used Mopar cd players like mine ...

This model radio may need to be programmed at the dealer for it work properly. The dealership will actually program the radio to the vehicle so they can communicate together. The estimated cost to program one of the radio to your vehicles is $45.00 but check with your local dealer for a quote. We do NOT accept returns on radios for this PURPOSE so be sure to research before buying."

Here is the site, but it sort of looks like the dealer has to program the radio. WHAT?!!!! http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/chrysler-town-and-country/TI14P6LNCF47UC82R

I hope this helps you out!

is it a new cd/radio ? the wiring is the same for a radio with or with out a cd player , the cd should work once the radio is connected , the other port you mention may be relevent as the original radio was a factory installed , these are usually designed to be useless to be used in other vehicles as a theft deterrent , i would remove the new radio and have a good search in the radio space as there may well be the second connector you require , be very carefull as there are many sharp edges and the apeture is not very large , the second connector , if there, will most likely be taped to another loom so as to keep it away from touching other parts so a good torch and have a search , keep me posted if you wish

Try disconnecting the battery for a few seconds and try to eject the cd, if this don't work you can take the cd player to the dealer ship and they can send it to be repaired

I have Land Rover Discovery 2 Model 2004, my problem is I replaced a new CD player from Original (Land Rover) and now I want to return it back to the original CD player, but I can not remember the code?

If you do not have the code in your purchase folder, the only way to get the player unlock code is from a Land Rover dealer.

This was done to prevent CD player thefts, since they would be totally useless without the code. The program has been highly successful.

There is no "factory" or "universal" code, so do not allow anybody to tell you that they can sell you one.

2004 truck delco radio 5 disc cd player. cd

Common for the CD to get stuck on the Delco radio, Try resetting the radio by disconnecting the battery for 5 min and then reinstalling the cables. This will reset the radio and you should get your CD to work again, if there is an issue. You going to have to go to the dealer and they are going to have to use a Tech2 scanner to reset and reprogram the radio. If there is any mechanical issues the Tech2 scanner will identify the issues, but 90% of the time. It's just a simple reset and the other 10% is a reprogram or replacing the unit.
Thank you for using fixya and good luck.

I have a CD STUCK in my 2004 dodge Durango. How

1st try to hit the eject button multiple times in a row. If this doesn't work you have 3 options.
1= pull the radio unit, disassemble case, gingerly remove CD, and reassemble.
2=Go to dealer or repair shop and have them remove. If you have a warranty left, mopar should be able to help. Factory radios have been a problem with Mopar for years.
3= Go buy a new CD and forget about it

2004 Chevy Trailblazer radio and CD player works, but no sound

if you have installed a new cd player in there then the propblem could be that your speaker wires and either touching each other or grounding them selfs out.. pull of the cd player and check to make sure all the speaker wires are covered properly and no bare wires are exposed.. if you still have a factory cd player in it then you will probably need to take it to a dealership to have it checked out..

1997 Honda Civic EX Keyless entry programming

If you still have the factory radio, there is a way to split the power wire for the factory radio to the aftermarket radio. All you will need are the power and ground for your aftermarket radio, so the rest of the wires should be untouched on the plug for the factory radio. You can simply re-install the radio within the dash and retain the keyless entry as well as restoring your dome light function. Here's a PDF of some instructions. If you did not keep the radio, I would suggest looking online or ins ome junk yards, because it is needed. www.installdr.com/InstallDocs/Honda/PDF/466013.pdf
