Where is the low side AC charging port on a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2 liter engine?

Still cant find it. I told you type engine and need for you to tell me exactly where it is, send a picture if possible

  • rpcurt Aug 19, 2010

Further my earlier reply, there are no air conditioner pipes on the driver's side of the car. I traced the larger diameter pipes (low pressure I think) and there is no visible charging port. There is a charging port on the high pressure, smaller line, but the r134 hose quick connect is too big for this one

Hi,

On most cases, this will be located near the front grill on the driver side of the engine. In some cases, you may find it near the firewall.
Good Luck!!

Thanks!!

    Thanks for your response!!

I spoke to another expert who worked on this model and he said that it is under the hood on the right (passenger side) of the vehicle up
next to the fire wall to the rear of the coolant recovery tank. Do not
turn the freon canister upside down when filling this port and the
engine is running. It will cause liquid to go to the pump and destroy
    your pump.

Make sure you wear safety glasses and gloves when you work with this, as
the freon absorbs huge amount of moisture and it will absorb quickly
into your eyes if sprayed or spilled.

The high pressure connection is on the side of the A/C pump near the front of the engine on the left (driver's) side.

    Good Luck!!

    Thanks!!

1995 grand jeep cherokee won't take freon why

You do know the compressor must be running to allow the system to be charged, right ?
If the system is low you have to jumper the low pressure switch or otherwise provide power to the compressor to put new cans of freon in.
And it will only go in on the low side of the system, which should be the only side you can connect the hose to.

Where is the low pressure ac valave on my 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs manufactured in or before 1995 use R12 refrigerant. You mustretrofit these SUVs to accept R134 refrigerant using a retrofit kitavailable at your local auto parts store before you can recharge thesystem. In some areas, a license is required to retrofit an airconditioning system. If this is the case in your area, take your Jeepto a professional to retrofit the system.

Locate the Low Pressure Side connector port: You will find it on the driver's side of the engine.

Good luck!!! (rated this help)
