No it's not going to be that bad, that's the reason for fuses, check your fuses, with key on and head lights on, used a test light, replace bad fuses, should take care of your problem.

Was running car with heater on car got hot heater went off seconds later car died engine was hot now won't start weak turn over.

Remove the serpentine belt. Put a socket on the crank bolt. It should be fairly easy to turn. If not, crank bearings are shot. If so, try to start the car. If it starts, first look at the A/C compressor. Then the other pulleys and parts. One has locked up.

Trying to open trunk with no power

Use jumper cables from another car-put the positive jumper cable on the post on the starter where the battery cable connects, then the negative jumper cable to a ground on the frame of your car. Turn on the car you are jumping with and let it run about 10 minutes. It might charge up your battery in the trunk enough to open the trunk.

I have a 1999 dodge 1500 and when i get in and turn on the ignition the gauges jump back and forth and they never stop what do you think is the problem?

gauges jumping could be weak battery or corroded cables. the gauges has poor grounding due to loose wire, or the gauges cluster shorting out.check battery voltage should be 12.6 volts.make sure battery cables and battery terminal post clean free of corrossion, make battery cables good and tight.due to lock out features turn off radio first before disconnecting negative battery cable.

I have a new battery....the only way I can start the car is to jump it, bypassing the battery. I use the hot side of the relay/fuse box in the engine compartment. Had it a a dealer a year ago... they...

check that connection on that relay box, remove the cable going to box and make sure the terminal isnot melted, another problem with these is the anti theft chip on the key the cylinder lock goes bad and wont read key, the engine will spin but not start, if your problem is nothing happening when you turn the key then its not the lock, another thing is if the box cable is good then check the starter wiring and nuetral safty switch.

WELL SOUND LIKE BATTERY PROBLEMS.HAVE CAR JUMPED START AGAIN. DONT TURN ON AC OR ANY ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS LET ALTERNATOR CHARGE UP BATTERY.WITH CAR RUNNING BATTERY VOLTAGE SHOULD BE 13.5 - 14.5 VOLTS.
