Question about Pontiac Grand Am

1 Answer

I have a 2004 pontiac grand am, my turn signals would click constantly or intermitanly. I found the problem to be in the multi-function swith. After fixing the issue my clicker stops randomly clicking but now my horn doesn't work and my high beams like to come on

Signal keeps clicking even when it is not on why does this happen and what needs to be fixed

the turn signal switch is grounding the white wire from the flasher module when it shouldn't be. This is very common in most GM vehicles. The fix is to replace the turn signal multi function switch.

This will involve removing the trim panels from the steering column. You will also need a set of torx screwdrivers and a small female torx socket to complete the removal and installation of the switch.

If you have any questions let me know. Thank you for using!

At times there is a constant clicking, it

The hazard switch which is just above the radio controls the turn signals and flashers is a very common issue. This is only available from the dealer. Most often this cures this issue.

Pontiac 1994 grand am . turn singnals quit working but the emergency flashers all work fine. i checked the fuses and changed out the round flasher and square relay under the dash and still no turn signals

it sounds like the multi function switch quit,
the turn signal handle your using is the turn signal switch,it is called a multi function switch because it now also does more like your dimmer switch or cruise need to remove three screws under the steering cover to get to it

Turn signal does not make clicking noise or turn on the blinking arrow light When activated, the turn signal works about 25% of the time. Sometimes it will work then quit suddenly and vice versa.

The turn signal relay is a plugin thermal device if it has a solid 'click' when operating and most often located under the dashboard. Not expensive and easy to replace with one from any chain auto parts store.

Continous clicking (signal lights)

HI.there is a defective part called the hazard lamp switch located in the middle of the dash. These switches fail internally.Try poking the switch hard with your fingers a few times when you hear the noise. If the noise goes away, the switch is probably faulty. The switch is very easy to replace.Just remove the trim on the dash carefully, then remove the switch.
