Question about 1985 Chrysler Fifth Avenue
Lack of power/acceleration on a car of that age could be due to any of a number of things in the engine or transmission, but the most likely culprits are spark plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, and throttle body, Give it a good tuneup if it's due, or take it to either your mechanic of a parts shop, and have them run a scan. Most parts stores will run a scan for free, but it won't be as accurate as what a qualified mechanic/shop can do.

Unless the engine has been rebuilt in the near past, it is likely that it's just worn out. Compression loss from worn rings, too much play in the timing chain etc, will cause the engine to have less power than it should have. You should also make sure the vacuum advance on the distributor is working.
Your carburetor may have internal problems such as a stuck power valve or a bad accelerator pump. That can be corrected with a good rebuild kit. If you do a good tune-up, you can also advance the timing up to eight degrees before TDC providing you don't get any knocking from poor fuel quality when you go that far.
If your engine has an egr valve on the intake manifold, it may be stuck open. You can either replace it or block it off by making a gasket from a piece of metal (may not pass some emission tests that way, but I've done that several times and actually got less emissions after doing it than it had before.)
If the transmission is slipping, that will cause problems too. In a vehicle that old, unless everything else is in near perfect condition it is really too expensive to bother fixing.
