Did you change the one way valve in the vacuum line going to the booster. It is supposed to keep vacuum in the booster all the time. If it does not your engine will have to lose much more vacuum when you hit the brakes. If this is not the problem try increasing your idle speed. Cleaning your carb/trotle body with throttle body cleaner will also help. You can get this at any auto supply store

My brake booster seems to be taking in air, brakes works fine but car idles low and stalls....is my brake booster going bad

every possibility. If you hear air noise on brake application or the engine stalls with the brakes applied then the booster is suspect and should be replaced.

1991Buick skylark stall when hitting brakes

Check the brake booster. It is connected to the inlet manifold as it uses the vacuum coming from the inlet manifold. A leaking diaphragm might cause to much air entering the inlet manifold. Start the engine and let it idle - check that it doesn\'t idle to low, if so adjust first - step hard on the brake pedal as during an emergency stop. If the engines stalls it is the brake booster.

Stalls stop

IT sounds like a vacuum leak from the brake booster on brake application . Easy test run the car and if it idles ok then put your foot on the brakes and if it stalls it is the booster.

If you put your foot on the brake and your car stalls, that is a symptom of your brake booster going bad.

For it stalling on the freeway that could be a few different things, Idle Air Control Valve, the Mass air flow sensor

My 1992 chev lumina apv van stalls everytime i put on the brakes at every red light it restarts after no codes are coming up what could it be?:

check to make sure the power brake booster is not leaking, do this by starting the van and just let it idle in park and push the brake pedal if the engine stalls or surges or you hear a sucking noise under the dash then replace the power brake booster if there is none of these systems then replace the idle control motor. GOOD LUCK

It appears that your brake booster system has a major vacuum leak which is causing the engine to go lean and stall. Check the hose between the intake manifold and the brake booster. It may be cracked or loose causing outside air to enter the hose when the brake is applied.

Car stalls when I step on the brake

There is a plastic valve going to the brake booster. That part or the brake booster itself can be the cause of your stalling. You are venting too much vacuum and killing the engine.
