OK, the seal at the firewall has deteriorated to the point that it leaks into the cabin and there are a couple of things that can be done to fix this.

First, try to find the 'weep' holes in the firewall and blow them out so that water can drain.

Second, try to get some foam in a can and spray it up against juncture between the firewall and the plastic pan that is leaking.

This is a common problem.

Thank you for the fast answer, I have already tried to clean the pipe with air pressure and with wire and nothing helped.

I would next try to seal the pan to the firewall located in the interior of hte car, if you can.

2000 mazda protege water leak under passenger side. A/C not used. Can't see any water in engine compartment or on firewall. Floor carpet is dry. Just drips from big bolts on frame under pass. side.

Possible the hot water line to the heater that has leaked from the water jacket or the connection at the heater pipe. You must be able to use a good observation lamp to look into this section so that the joint from where the leaks appears is located. Possible that the gland or the connector can be tightened to stop the leak.

I have a Mazda B2500 (2000). Everytime it rains the drivers side floorboard gets soaked. There is no dripping or water running down the door. What could this be?

You could have a windshield that is leaking water. Often this water will trickle down from the bottom/inside of the glass and then down the firewall, under the carpet or floor mat, and to the floor. The way I usually hunt for these is to remove the floor mat or carpet then get a flashlight and lay down in the cab so you can see under the dash area while someone sprays water on the vehicle with a garden hose. Often the leak will show up as a trickle that you can then backtrack to it's source. Another spot to look for is at the cowl in front of the windshield where air for the heater and a/c is pulled into the passenger compartment. The water drain holes in this area can plug up and allow water to overflow into the passenger compartment. Good luck, hope this helps!

How do I clear the AC condensate drain on my 2008 CX-9?

The first place I would look is on the firewall from under the hood. Toward the passenger side, (I think) you should see a rubber nozzle coming out of the firewall. This is the condensor drain, and chances are of course, it's clogged up. You should be able to easily remove it. Upon doing so, the condensor should drain the collected water. Then, you'll have a good oportunity to clean the nozzle and put it back in.

I hope this helps you with your problem! :)

Does the car have climate control air/con?If so,air/con may still be coming on at different times.I would double check the air/con drip tray.Sometimes it has 2 pipes if the tray has split levels. One may still be blocked.(Does the car have a built in fridge?)Hope this may help

The carpet under the drivers seat on my 2007 mx5 is getting wet please can anyone help...thanks steve...

Check your door seals VERY carefully next time your car gets wet - you'll probably find that the forward seal is leaking very slightly - the water tends to run down the pillar and onto the carpet. There often are no drips to provide you with a hint as to where the leak is; try running your finger along it to find moisture. Also there is a little 'well' in the upper corner of the seal that tends to trap water when you get in and out of the car - this often gets squeezed into the car but is rarely enough to cause too much of a problem.
Once you've found the problem area, you just have to get the seal replaced!
Good luck, Sherwin

Leaking roof under passenger seat

Have you cleaned out the drain tubes? There is a 'rain rail' underneath the rear lip, which diverts water off the top and down to tubes on each side. The tubes get clogged up with leaves and whatnot. You can use a coathanger to CAREFULLY clear the debris. Check out www.miata.net for more Miata information than you could imagine.

Happy Motoring!
