Try this, put key in door and lock car, wait 30 secs then unlock car with key and hold over for 30 secs, windows may go down, then lock car with key and hold over for 30 secs, windows may go up,then press and hold unlock button on remote for 30 secs, you have just reset the system.......if remote batteries are dead you cannot reset.......

My second hand 2004 Mitsubishi Outlander immobiliser fob has stopped working and i can no longer start my engine. I only have one immobiliser fob and one non-remote/buttonless engine key.

The immobiliser works with a chip in the fob. This is a signalling device which, via a pick-up situated around the ignition lock, sends the signal to the engine computor which the allows the engine to be started.

Immobiliser won't unlock on XJ TDVi

I suspect the cold weather was the fundamental problem, usually emanating from a battery voltage drop, and kicking in the on board computer gremlins.

Jags just don't like it !

Lets hope the weather improves for you there in UK, and your little gremlin does not return.

Good Luck !
