99% of jaguars sold are auto ..... it makes sense in a car like this. Yes there are issues with the gearboxes but I have owned two s types and had no REAL trouble. My current car suffers from the ''lurch'' but this is a software problem and can be improved. If you buy a good car from a decent source with a proper warranty and service history you stand as much chance with a s type as any other car (except Lexus- which are almost Bomb proof) - good luck

BUY A MANUAL WHATEVER YOU DO,THE AUTOBOX IS COMPUTER CONTROLLED AND WHEN IT GOES WRONG YOU WILL NEED TO TAKE OUT A MORTGAGE.

i would agree with the comment made by "raygin"about lexus being bomb proof, but would also add a mercedes is better.(they dont write songs about lexus.....)

Yes Mercedes are good ... but Lexus (JD POWER) ratings are superior. I have owned both and were pleased with both (but had less trouble with the Lexus), have now been with Jags for 8 yrs. do not like the new XF so will probably look at the CLS or The late 200 series Lexus.
Auto gearboxes have come a long way for both comfort and reliability, you also have the added advantage with an auto that it does cushion the cars drive train and engine from the effects of rough drivers who rev high and drop clutches. And who wants to keep pressing a pedal up and down all day in a traffic jam.
Prestige comfort cars - do not do manual - you will regret it. If you are a driver/driver then I would agree with manual - but then perhaps a different style of car is what you should maybe consider. What ever you choose - I hope it is successful and brings joy - good luck.

    Hello.
Yes. Its worrying that the prestige cars are getting out performed in many areas of reliability by far east cars -Japan started the race and seems to be coming second to their near competitors. i like the idea of great reliability and service - but can't quite get myself around the name !! Hyundia!! - just a snob thing that says the fault is with me not the cars. Maybe in the ideal world all the designers and techs from Hyundia will go and work for Jaguar and Mercedes .......... LOL !

Where do i fill transmission fluid on a frontera?

You didn't say whether auto or manual transmission? I believe an auto fluid level must be checked using diagnostic equipment, from what I have heard, and the vehicle manufacturer seems to have a habit of fitting a level plug in the manual transmissions but require filling to be done through the breather. Apologies in advance if I have that wrong. I have experience of Vauxhall/Opel GM models but not of the Frontera so far...

I wont to buy a workshop service manual for fugi 12 speed powershift in a 9380 case ih tractor

I searched the net and the best place that probably could help you is www.bigtractorparts.net
they show a parts break down for one fugi transmission
there are a lot of forums about that transmission and the availability of parts so I would be talking to specialist repair shops to get a better idea of parts availability, workshop manuals for sections of the unit ( one price was $2,320.00 for the manual , and others say that you can buy or rent manuals )
some forums talk about upgrading to a better transmission
I gather that in requesting a manual you are having transmission problems so lots of communications with specialist shops including case may be rewarding

P 0733 code what does that mean

You could be more specific with the issue:
  • Transmission type (Manual/Automatic)?
  • How did this issue appear?
  • Does the car change gears normally?
Your car seems to be an automatic transmission model?
So the fault code is "Gear 3 Incorrect Ratio"

This means that you may have:
  • Low transmission fluid level or dirty transmission fluid
  • Faulty or dirty shift solenoids
  • Transmission mechanical problems
  • Transmission hydraulic control circuit issue

You will have more problems with the differentials in those years. I would be wary of them unless they have already been rebuilt.

I would make the rounds to all the auto parts stores near you and ask them if they've heard the same problem!
Sometimes parts on newer cars keep going bad until someone, the auto parts industry, comes up with a better solution and then walla a newer better part is created that is readily available at auto parts stores!

Hope this is helpful.
