Question about 1986 Buick Regal

2 Answers

I drive an 86 buick regal, and not too long ago i had a motor/tranny swap due to my original tranny "slipping" didnt really have the "get up and go" even when i would mash on the gas pedal. but now with another 307 bb dropped into it, including the tranny i bought with it (from an 83 model) my reverse is starting to go really bad...its almost like these same problem i had before, only worse. what could this be? whats the best solution?

Oil and transmission fluid mixing and leaking from under car 99 Buick century and now car will not change gears

you need to look at the tranny cooler located in radiator that's the only way tranny fluid can get out but how its crossing over to motor oil im not sure unless you also have a motor oil cooler in the radiator.and that will cause tranny problems ,don't try to drive till you resolve these issues., my other thought is oil is leaking out back of motor and mixing with leaking tranny fluid, try draining tranny first to see if motor oil is really in tranny.

Buick odometer quit working

It sounds to me like you might have a worn out speedometer cable which is normal wear for the year of your car. How many miles does you vehicle have on it? And the tranny is the original one? If its not worn out, it either came loose from the tranny or behind the speedometer. Not very hard to replace

I have a 1999 buick regal. front end noise

Most often the problem with front wheel drive models and this type of symptom ends up being a loose or broken motor/tranny mount. I'm sure there are a few shops around where you are at that might put it on a lift and check undernethe for free or a small fee. Also, if you have a floor jack and have the time you could check yourself, just look for anything that seems broken/cracked, and look at ALL the rubber componenets for wear and tear.

I have a 1995 Buick Regal GS and it's been really good to me until recently. Well, for a few months now it would get stuck on 'park' --- I would really have to yank on it to get it down to 'reverse.' ...

transmission is stating 2 break down. could try and change the tranny filter and fluid. but ther r bands in the tranny that stretch. probly best 2 rebuild it.

2000 Buick Regal that shakes pretty bad.

It could be a cv joint or a wore out or worn tranny mount or motor mount.

This is the 3rd tranny - Exact same thing is happening.

You might try to add a transmission cooler. If its getting hot it will eat the transmission easily. time to swap it out and sell the problem to someone else.

Slipping in 1at gear

just check the buttom of the pulleys or buttom of the car for leaks or tensioner pulley , sometimes bearings in tensioner wear out i had similar issue with gear slipping it happened to be a leaky water pump and antifreeze getting on the pulleys while the car is running, causing belt to slip and tranny slip feel similar as you described , i replaced belt and water pump and no more issue
