Question about Pontiac Grand Am

1990 Pontiac Grand Am 2.5 "iron horse" stock condition w/110,000 mi. after new AC Delco plugs it stalls & sputters. Autozone said fuel was lean.Is that it?How do I adjust it?

Honestly dont know ,but these garages will tell you anything to get your money and then get rid of you,try a set of bosch plugs with the multi electrodes ,and the correct type with the right heat range for your engine .

1990 1/2 ton chevy truck 6 cyl...sputters when first starting out, runs fine on open highway, stalls alot..


change air & fuel filters, EGR valve, & PCV valves need replaced ! a tune-up may help your engine also, spark plugs, plug wires, etc., etc., check all vacumn lines, tighten all throttle body bolts, on so on, good luck

Intermittent stall condition. worse after warm.


look around engine for any breather pipes ,they could be split and make sure you have a look and dont think i have already done it

I have a 99 grand am SE 2.4 4 cylinder and my problem #2 misfire, repalced spark plugs with AC delco rapid fires, replaced coil packs, replaced coil pack housing, changed spark plug boots, had ignition...


A misfire doesn't always have to be ignition... it's just the most common cause. Faulty or plugged injector, low compression. You need to check fuel pressure and test the fuel injector flow. Then check compression. If you don't have tools for these tests, take it to someone who does. Testing is much cheaper than throwing parts at the problem.

What is required on a tune up at 100,000 miles? The car is a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am. The car has the V-6 engine.


I would personally replace the spark plugs with the correct style AC Delco plugs,also the plug wires,replace the pcv valve,air filter and fuel filter if needed,clean the throttle body and throttle plate.If you need anymore help let me know @ (mic0707@aol.com)

We changed the fuel pump on our 1990 bonnieville now it runs rough and sputters and stalls and backfires


make sure timing is dead on ignition timing make sure the fuel filter is not clogged
Does it have 1 fuel pump or 2 check both if it does
check the coil packs

DURING PRODUCTION THE MRAS VENT AND FUEL RETURN TUBES WERE REVERSED.
