2003 Dodge Neon - won't start. check engine light stays on after you turn the key to the run position - flashes after you try to start the engine.

Go to a larger auto parts store and ask the counterperson to use the store's OBD II code scanner to read the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) stored in your car's onboard computer. Then, the counterperson should be able to interpret the code and advise you as to the parts and general procedures to replace the problem parts. Good luck.

I got diagnostic trouble codes P0108,P0121,P0340 what does it means and give me the remedial action for that

Here is what each of your trouble codes means:

DTC P0108 MAP Sensor Range check High
DTC P0121 TPS Circuit Range/Performance Problem
DTC P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
Do you know how long each of these codes have been stored? Each one of these codes relate to a different part of the vehicle.

Your PO108 codes is probably a faulty Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor
PO121 is a Throttle Position Sensor malfunction code
PO340 is a Camshaft Position Sensor malfunction code

I would not think that all 3 of these codes all set at the same time, just wouldnt make sense unless there was a problem with the Engine Control Module (ECM) causing all these codes to set at the same time.

DTC shows up on computer at auto zone as a bad code and i dont know what DTC means so i cant fix it if i dont know what it means so my question to you is what in the world does DTC mean ? Im working on a...

DTC stands for Diagnostic Trouble Code. My question is why did you have the vehicle checked out in the first place? Is the check engine light on? What was the code number and did it start with P0 or P1. If you don't remember then have the code(s) cleared and operate the vehicle until the code(s) reappear. The code or codes can help you to determine where to start looking.

Engine light stays on.

get an obd2 scanner at an auto parts store (sometimes they'll let you barrow one for free) and download the diagnostic trouble codes(DTC's) then use an obd2 chart to see what the codes mean. That will tell you everything you need to know. Im positive the guy at the auto parts store will help you if you need it

Engine light is on

There is a long list of sensors and conditions that can trip the check engine light, and each one has a
diagnostic trouble code(dtc) number. To find out what is causing your code you will need an OBDII scanner.
Most auto parts stores have one and will scan your car for free. Once you know where the trouble is, you
can better figure out how to fix it.Hope this helps.
Good luck

RECENTLY HAD OIL CHANGE AND GETTING SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT

Hello and thanks for choosing FixYa.com

The service engine light means there is a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) stored by the vehicle's computer. This could be anything from a faulty sensor to a bad exhaust system. You should have the codes retrieved by a diagnostic scanner. Most part stores will do this free of charge and give you the code numbers. Once you get the numbers, let me know what they are and I can further troubleshoot the issue for you.

Air Conditioner for Benz 1998 E320

Check system for codes;

Displaying & Reading Trouble Codes (DTC Memory)
Air Conditioning (A/C)

Models 208 as of MY 1998

Diagnostic trouble Code Memory [15]

Note:
  • The A/C pushbutton control module (N22) has DTC memory and data output. The diagnostic trouble codes and data are displayed via the temperature display window. The stored DTC's will remain in memory even with the vehicle battery disconnected.
  • The DTC memory differentiates between current and intermittent faults.
  • Numerous DTC's can also be read with the Hand-Held Tester (HHT).

Preparations for DTC Readout

  1. Review 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 21, 22, 31, 31, 41
  2. Ignition: ON
  3. Temperature selector: left: "HI"; right: "LO"
  4. Ignition: OFF
  5. Ignition: ON
  6. Within 20 seconds press REST and EC simultaneously for more than 5 seconds.
  7. The LED in Recirculated Air flashes and the display shows "d1A".
  8. Press AUTO repeatedly until all DTC's are displayed. Record each DTC as it is displayed.
  9. Each fault (short circuit, open circuit) is assigned a DTC. Thus in the left display: "E1" appears, and the right display indicates the DTC. The current faults (refer to table) are displayed first, next, the intermittant failures (e.g. 45 °5) are displayed in the display window next to the FAN symbol. By pressing the right AUTO the next DTC is displayed.
  10. To erase: Can only be performed after all faults have been readout. Press left AUTO and right AUTO buttons simultaneously for more than 2 seconds and the display shows: left: "d" and right: "FF". To cancel erase: By pressing the left AUTO button, the current faults will appear again.
  11. Select a base temperature setting.
  12. Turn ignition OFF, to end test.
Note: Due to instrument cluster (IC) series interface, DTC's may be stored in IC memory, therefore readout and erase DTC's from IC memory.
