SOURCE: 99 jaguar transmission code p1722

This code is an indication that the transmission has excessive slippage, the code is for the input and output turbine speed sensors, based on what i know of this problem the trans has a mechanical problem, that would be low fluid pressure or worn out forward clutches, make sure the trans fluid is not low, if it is ok you will need to have the trans torn down for inspection..

SOURCE: Trouble code P1740 on 1999 Dodge Ram 2500

I had the same code on my 2001 dodge 2500. The truck wouldn't shift from 3-4. I pulled the trans pan off and replaced a broken spring ($2.00). It is behind a thin plate with 3-4 small torq screws. You don't have to remove the valvebody. Only took me 45 minutes to fix.

I would like to give thanks to Jeff Russel from Teal automotive. He said this is a very common problem. He sells any part for any automatic Transmision and his prices are very affordable.

Can a bad knock sensor cause a tranny to go stay in 2nd gear(limp mode)on a 2008 dodge ram 3.7 liter.Got 2 codes a #2 knock sensor and tcm power low voltage

The transmission is in limp-in mode because of the second DTC - TCM (transmission control module) low voltage. The knock sensor code has nothing to do with that. You need to have the TCM and transmission checked out.

1996 Dodge stratus es automatic wont shift outta low gear .is this a sensor issue?

probably not if it is limp mode
the ECM puts the car in limp mode to prevent serious problems in the engine or transmission
could be no coolant, sump oil , transmission oil etc
run the fault codes and find the reason for the mode

Irratic engine power some times goes into a limp mode at35oo rpms what causes this

Has to do with the transmission. Can be wiring/plugs from the PCM to trans, wiring inside the trans, or a solenoids inside the trans is shorting out. Have the codes read. Check the trans fluid also. When it gets low, it can cause a pressure code. This will throw it into limp mode.

I have a 2004 dodge ram 2500 stuck in limp mode. Can't get it out of limp mode any way to dypass?

Not really. You have to have the codes read. Could be as easy as replacing a solenoid. You have to remove the transmission pan to do it. Or it could be a transmission rebuild.

LIMP MODE 08 RAM 1500

A few options are possible here, as a few sensors can be defective on the new engine and cause this (crank position sensor, cam position sensor, mass air flow, etc.). That said, having worked for dodge before, on newer models (since around 2005 or so), when you change the transmission, the ECU usually needs to be reprogrammed with the correct serial numbers to match, or else it won't start or go in limp mode, so this could also be your problem. Best bet would be to ask a friend with a code reader or a mechanic you know that doesn't charge too much to pull out the check engine codes and see if anything turns up that list a sensor that could cause your problem. If there are no codes, call up your local dodge dealer and ask them if your particular model might need to be reprogrammed since the engine was changed. If so, schedule a repair with them so they can do it, as so far it can only be done with the DRB3 module from dodge and haven't seen much jobber boxes that can do this job. Hope this helps :)

04 ram will not shift past 35 mph

it may not be a transmission problem. have you checked for fault codes to make sure it is not in limp mode? limp mode keeps vehicle from accelerating properly because the ECM has put the system at a limited setting to keep the engine running but not to its full potential.

Dodge ram 2500 transmission relay isn't working right

The relay has pin ID on it lets use that. CAV 30 is B+ which is 12 volts, Cavity 85 is transmission control relay. Cavity 86 is Generator source. Cavity 87 is transmission control relay output. Cavity 87A is not used. open that relay and exposed the relay control see if it engages on its own if not collapse it see if you get out of limp mode.

My 91 dodge stealth is in limp mode how do i fix this transmission problem

Your car is in "limp"mode because the computer doesn't know what speed your doing,So it doesn't shift,
There are three possible reasons for this,
#1= input sensor faulty on transmission,
#2=output sensor faulty on transmission,
#3=speed sensor faulty on transmission,
you need to have the transmission codes read to know which one,Autozone checks codes for free.

LIMP MODE

You will have to have the fault codes read and removed. If it is permanently in limp mode it may suggest another problem.
