The main reason for the over heating of the audi tt is to do with the water pump. The propeller within the first type of water pumps is made of plastic. This was to prevent corrosion, however was never designed to last longer than 5 years. What you need to do is purchase the new style water pump. These new style water pumps have been designed with a metallic propellor which should resolve the overheating. Let us know how you get on.

CAUTION: The large clutch assembly nut has a right-hand thread and must be rotated counterclockwise to remove it.
Remove the fan clutch (8A616) from the water pump (8501) by turning the large nut, which is part of the fan clutch, using Fan Clutch Holding Tool T84T-6312-C and Fan Clutch Nut Wrench T93T-6312-B.
Remove two screws retaining fan shroud.
Remove the fan blade (8600), fan clutch and shroud.
If the fan blade and fan clutch have to be separated, remove the remaining bolts attaching the fan blade to the fan clutch
5.0L, 5.8L and 7.5L Engines Removal
Remove screws retaining fan shroud (8146) to radiator (8005).
Remove four screws retaining clutch on water pump hub.
Pull fan clutch and fan blade off water pump pilot and remove fan clutch, fan blade and shroud from vehicle.
Remove four screws and separate fan clutch from fan blade.

There is a special tool that is required to hold the fan clutch. Then the fan screws out of the clutch. The tool can be bought or rented at your friendly parts store like autozone, etc. It will look something like this:

There is only 1 great big tube nut on the inside of the fan blade assembly that needs to be loosened to remove it. U have to prevent the shaft its threaded onto from spinning though. The whole thing spins off that shaft on the water pump.
hi mates... first of all try to see your whater pump working(with two whires...old fashion way), if that works, u should change the thermostat and Yes for lakramer (the malfunction must be related just to let u know u may blow your engine if not fixed)
