may the plug near the air filter is out or not fix i have the same issue and it happen after i clean the air filter i did not plug the plug nicely so it was stop some time and when i put the plug correctlly it is ok , i was about to change the sparkpluge and cable . but the issue was simple
under the hood on the passenger side there is a little black access panel on the area by the wiper arm. this pops off and the filter is right behind it.the hose for your washer fluid runs right past it.
most likely not the fuel filter- try plugs and wires... could be a number of things, if the vehicle runs fine while in park and doesnt hesitate, most likely is sprk plugs and wires or a transmission problem...
