You need to take off the tire and using a prybar or large screw driver, force the caliper open by prying in the brake pad through the opening on the ccailper. One you get some slack in it, there are two bolts or screws in the ears of the caliper that must be removed. They may be an allen wrench style or a torx style. Not the bolts that hold the caliper bracket to the hub. Caliper should be able to be removed now. You then need a "C" clamp or caliper pistor compressor to push the piston all the way into the caliper in order to make room for the new pads. Good luck.

ABS light still continuously blinks though. How would I determine if there is a faulty speed sensor as the culprit or accumulator, possibly?
Sounds like a bad hub. Newer cars now have sealed front hubs with an internal speed sensor. I would do this to check. Lift the tire off the ground, and using your hands grab the tire tread at the 12 and 6 oclock position. see if there is any movement by pushing in with your top hand and out with your bottom hand. Try again at 3 and 9 oclock. If you detect any movement also check other suspension components (ball joints, tie rod ends, etc). May also spin the tire to see if you feel any friction or grinding (not associated with the pads rubbing on the disk. You can also tell a hub is going bad when you hear a rumbling from the tire that is not normal. And sometimes the speed sensor in the hub goes bad alone. Search the internet from rock auto or others for the better pricing on hubs. Install is basically undoing everything you did with the brakes, remocing the caliper support bracket, and in your case front drive nut, hub mounting bolts and pull the hub off. Good luck!

Wheel off remove 2 caliper bolts from behind caliper then remove caliper @ replace your pads, you'll need a C clamp vise to compress the caliper piston back so you can put caliper back on. hope i helped!!
