My nissan maxima 2007 CVT transmission is running on low gear the check engine light comes on and it gives me code p1777. Can the fluid be low or can a faulty sensor be the problem.

Based on my experience on the Altima/Maxima CVT transmissions they have serious valve body issues. I'm sure that's not what you want to hear but the good news is there are fixes that work 75% of the time that do not require transmission removal or an new trans. Call some of your better trans shops in your area and take notes, see whom has the most knowledge. Hope this gets you on the right track.

Iam getting a delay of a few seconds whenever i shift between neutral and drive or neutral and reverse on my 2007 nissan tiida cvt transmission.

Have the oil changed and the filter checked . I have a Mitsubishi lancer and it is in good nick but If I apply power before the shift happens it chirps the tyres . have the bands and clutch pack adjusted Run fault codes to check for faulty solenoids and servos.

Want to know how to do a full fluid change on a 2005 altima's transmission

If your vehicle has the CVT for the transmission, you must use the proper fluid first off. (Nissan NS-2)

There should be a drain plug on the transmission. These transmissions dont have a cooler lline that runs through the radiator to cool the fluid like older vehicle, some of them have a cooler built into the transaxle assembly that actually has coolant running through it. Below i have included a list of the various transmissions used in this vehicle, be sure to use the proper fluid or this will ruin the transmission very quickly and will void any warranty (if still available). You can also check the handle on the transmission dipstick, there should be a label stating which fluid to use.

*Note: Do Not Overfill the fluid, any slight overfill will cause poor operation of the transmission. If there is a way for you to measure how much you drain out, i would strongly recommend doing so, and be sure to put that same amount back in, as to reduce the chance of overfilling.

Hope this helps...

How do I add automatic transmission fluid? There is no information in the owners manual.

why do you need to add fluid into trans. it is a CVT trans, which doesnt require any service unless you are towing with vehicle. its a maintenance free trans unless of course you have a leak. just to give you heads up 1qt. of CVT fluid goes for around $20 a bottle (quart).

I have a 2009 Altima car and the transmission had to be replaced. Does Nissan have a history of problems with transmissions ?

the cvt transmissions have become a known issue, and nissan (in canada, not sure about usa) has since offered an extended warranty to 200000 KM ( 120000 M ).

Can I tow a 2000 Nissan Altima front wheel drive manual transmition with my RV?

Yes but I would use a dolly to do it. The problem is the possibility of the car dropping into gear. Also it is not recommended that you tow a Front wheel drive vehicle with the wheels on the ground. You could damage the transmission. U-Haul and a Number of other rental locations rent a Wheel hopper dolly. This puts the 2 front wheels on the dolly to be towed. It is relatively cheap and will save you damage to the vehicle.
