Any codes??? tune up, fuel filter, the last thing could be plugged up catalytic converter. If you have to replace the only good one you will have a problem with code PO 420 !!!

I believe they are telling you the truth having it reprogramed should take care of your problem. Good luck hope it works out ok for you.

Kia in their infinite wisdom put a trunk lid on/off switch in the passenger side glove box. I had this problem and it was just the switch turned off.

Look for the rubber hose that goes to the brake booster. Remove it and plug it off or if it is a soft rubber material pinch it off with a pair of vice grips. If the engine stops stalling than replace the booster. If the engine continues to stall unplug the brake switch. If the engine does not stall after that you have an electrical issue with the brake lights. Let me know what you find.
