I have a 2008 chevy silverado 1500 4x4 and when i turn the key off and open the door the radio continues to play and you can still rool the windows up and down. Any ideas on this?

It has a switch on the main structor where your door is hinged that may be stuck. when the door opens befor the timer runs out it shuts of the radio but main lights are on their own timer.

Open a door . It's suppose to do that . After 10 min. or open a door is what should shut it off . If not ,stuck RAP relay contacts stuck closed . supplying battery voltage all the time . RAP relay - Retained Accessory Power
Relay Controlled RAP
The BCM keeps the RAP relay energized during all power modes, except Off-Awake and Crank. The relay is also energized for approximately 10 minutes after shutting the ignition OFF and removing the key, providing no door is opened.
Relay controlled RAP will end when one of the following conditions is met:
• The BCM receives an input from any door ajar or open switch indicating the opening of any door after the ignition key is out of the ignition.
Important: If the BCM is receiving any door ajar or open signal from those switches when the ignition key is turned OFF, RAP will not initiate.
• The BCM internal timer for the RAP expires after approximately 10 minutes.
• The BCM detects a decrease in battery capacity below a prescribed limit.
Systems powered by the accessory relay during the retained accessory power (RAP) power mode are as follows:
• Power windows
• Sunroof

This year model truck WILL allow the truck to be locked if the key fob is left inside, but not while fully engaged in the ignition. If you do not have Onstar service you will have to use a long piece of thin metal, possibly a straightened clothes hanger and work it into the upper part of the driver or passenger side door at the top rear corner. Be careful not to tear the door seal. If it's long enough to reach the power door lock button press it to open the door. If not then fashion a small hook on the end and hook the manual door lock release. There is just enough of a lip to hook on to. Hope this helps.
Only 2-3 things left that can cause this. Either the tracks have bent and makes the windows pry and lift abnormally, or the door frame is bent or rusted and jams the window. I've seen rust ballooning the metal before and causing this, and as most cars/trucks have rubber liners over the metal to prevent buffing the paint on the door tracks, it's not always easy to see, so you might want to pry the rubber a bit to have a look or completely remove the vertical linings to inspect. we have a 08 1500 crewcab chevy that all the power door locks worked excepted the drivers door. We started to look at that door power lock actuater and now the passenger power door lock does not work. Could the trouble be something other than actuaters?
The feature is called "retained accessory power" or RAP for short. The purpose is to allow accessories such as the radio, power windows and blower functions to continue for the drivers convenience after the key is turned to the off position or the key is removed. The RAP feature will remain active for 20 minutes or until the drivers door is open which ever occurs first.

Try a window ,see if they still work too . RAP relay supply's power for radio windows etc. when key is turned off for ten mins or till a door is open .
