Hi. If you have these 4 buttons in a row (DIC buttons) you can find it near the radio. Select the button with the car icon. Press on this button repeatedly until the "% OIL Life Remaining" appears on the IPC messages screen. Stop there. Press and hold that same button until the message indicate "100% Oil Life Remaining". And that's it. Okay, sir? : )

Have a 2008 gmc arcadia and its giving me 3 codes that are P0420 P0011 P0014 I am getting different diagnosis from different mechanics. Can you give me any insite please?thanks

First code points to a bad catalytic converter...

Second and third are from the inlet and exhaust cams.

Basically the valvetiming is to advanced in degrees..

This could be because of manual campulleys, wrongly installed/timed cams or belt / chain .. the most common tho is the car is equipped with variable valve timing wish has gone faulty...

The code is triggered when the engine control module is saying for exampel i want 4 degrees before tdc and then the ecm is getting a signal from the camschaft sensor at 8 degrees before tdc... it wsnts 4 but gets 8...

When the asked value is not the retrieved value from the sensor a code is triggered

Sometimes the system will reset if you pull out the hvac fuse, wait a while, and put it back in. If not, the blend door actuator will have to be checked.

NEED TO RESET OIL CHANGE LIGHT

How to Reset the Engine Oil Life System
The Engine Oil Life System calculates when to change the engine oil and filter based on vehicle use. Whenever the oil is changed, reset the system so it can calculate when the next oil change is required. If a situation occurs where the oil is changed prior to a CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message being turned on, reset the system.
Always reset the engine oil life to 100% after every oil change. It will not reset itself. To reset the Engine Oil Life System:
Display the OIL LIFE REMAINING on the DIC.
Press and hold the SET/RESET button on the DIC for more than five seconds. The oil life will change to 100%.
If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message comes back on when the vehicle is started, the Engine Oil Life System has not reset. Repeat the procedure.
Good luck and thanks for your question and I hope my suggestions help. burdfrenzy

Oil Change Reset
A press of the OIL CHANGE RESET switch will allow you to
reset the oil life feature to 100% (or your Personalized Oil Reset
Percentage). After you have the oil changed, you must execute
the following procedure. Press the OIL CHANGE RESET switch
and hold for five seconds as the M/C counts down for five
seconds. After a successful reset the Message Center will display
“OIL LIFE RESET TO 100%.” If you have established a
Personalized Oil Reset Percentage, the display will show that
percentage instead of 100%. To ensure accurate oil life
indicators, perform this reset procedure only after an oil change.
Your Personalized Oil Reset Percentage allows you to establish a
smaller oil change interval than the manufacturer’s
recommended interval. To establish your Personalized Oil Reset
Percentage perform the following procedure:
1. Press and hold the OIL CHANGE RESET switch and press
the RESET switch while the display is still counting down
the 5 seconds to reset. The display will change to “START
OIL LIFE AT XXX%.”
2. Press the OIL CHANGE RESET switch until the displayed
percentage is the Personalized Oil Reset Percentage that you
desire. Your choices are 100%, 90%, 80%, 70%, 60%, 50%,
40% and 30%.
