If your tranny has gone into limp mode, it is for a reason, something went bad in there and it won't go over x amount of rpms or speed to save itself from further damage. You probably lost a shift solenoid, or a ground, or it may just be low on fluid. You might end up in the tranny shop with a $1200 bill. Check it out.

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Here's a link to this great service

Good luck!

It sounds like your vehicle is in "limp home mode" . Some vehicles have this feature that allows you to be able to return or get to a repair shop before damaging your vehicle further.
If your vehicle is a diesel you might want to check to see if your DEF (diesel emission fluid) tank is empty. If it not a diesel I would go to a repair shop or an Autozone and have them pull the fault codes to give you an idea what is going on with your vehicle.

C270 goes in limp mode M Benz tech department said maf sensor and throttle control, I replaced both and the same happened

the limp mode is also activated by problem sensors in the transmission. Have the fault codes read again or have the system reset after replacing the faulty items.

check engine lights mean that a sensor is not giving the computer a signal within an acceptable range. when this happens the car will go into "limp mode" which means it doesnt use most sensors and will guess what it should do. you can continue driving and cause no additional damage but you will use a little more gas than normal. You should get it fixed but it can be put off till you have the money and time to do it.
