Is there an alternate process where you have to remove the tire and wheelhousing- to access the Low beam -if so is it simplier??

  • felixmurrin Aug 08, 2010

I will let you know once I've tried it this week

THis is a super solution as i completed this low beam bulb replacemnt very easily with your excellent instructions and photos--in the process this exercise saved me close to $100 as the dealer had quoted me a minimum of 1 hr labour at $80/hr to do this replacemnent
an excellent $6 investment and whole lot of personal satisfaction
    Thanks again

Actually this can turn into a real problem, To access the headlamps on the Acadia, you have to remove the front fender or the wheel well cover. Either way is time consuming and you want to be sure not to break any of the plastic clips holding it together. If you would like to try this your self, go here for a color pictorial on the process with instructions. Hope this helps. and remember, never touch the glass part of the bulb with your fingers. I have to say that the engineers really dropped the ball on this design. is absolutely crazy that it should be this much trouble to change a bulb.

2009 Acadia removal of the low beams, low beam bulb, remove the bumper. If you have really small hands, you may be able to squeeze your hand down to remove the bulb housing . If the car is under 36k miles the replacement of the headlamp bulb is covered by the warranty. Also of note, it has been confirmed that sometimes the wire harness for the low beam light may have burned causing the bulb to blow. remove the front fascia and grill,There is a wall directly behind the bulb with an inch or less room for moving the bulb assembly out of the housing. Also, some folks have had the bad wiring harness which was replaced under warranty. I here the cost for having GM replace the bulbs is $250 to $300 if out of warranty. Learn to do it yourself or find a body shop that might do it cheaper.

How do you replace a low beam headight bulb in an '07 Acadia?

i had t take the tire off , then take off the plastic covering just to get to the bulb. or you could also try to take the air intake filter out , remove the whole plasic container that the filter was in and try to cgange it that way . I think if your hands are small enough you could possibly get it this way ?

I have tried to change my headlights on my Acadia and the area to reach is to small for my hands is there any other way to change the lights without playing with the lamp alignment?

Hi, viewer. In my practice, I was able to change the high beam bulbs and signal bulbs by removing the forward portion of the front wheelhouse liner. Lots of patience though. The low beam bulbs and the park lamp bulbs is somewhat difficult to reach, may even require removal of the whole assembly especially if the lowbeam bulb connectors are burned.

not trying to be sarcastic, but in this new of a model I would believe that they are composites,by this I mean the bulb is inside the lamp and you access the bulb from behind and under the hood, you need a lamp or composite bulb anyway, so save yourself some money and go to an auto parts store i.e. Auto-Zone/Carquest/NAPA any of these or other have good prices and they will more than likely help you on the correct purchase and help on how to install and you won't pay those outlandish shop rates...GOOD LUCK you can do it
