If the check engine light came on it could be anything, that would not show up in your coolant, oil, etc. Have the code read. if you have recently got gas, and you didn't screw the gas cap on the right way, it will make the check engine light come on, that's how particular those lights can be. have it read and let me know what you find out.

Did you check the socket and wires immediately nearby? I assume it is isolated to just one bulb. If not, check brake light switch behind pedal and fuse. Also, switch bulbs around just in case.

My check engine light stays on.

You can take your car to Auto Zone and they will scan the codes for FREE. They will also let you know the part causing the problem. 99% of the time it's a sensor that you may be able to replace yourself if your handy with cars. Without the codes, it's random guessing to fix the problem.

have compression check done on all cylenders. sounds that it could be seeping and burning this new anttifreez. can burn out pistons if so. if you have a turbo have your seals checked as they could be hardend and cracked causeing seepage. also note if your oil or coolant levels have been coming up small amounts short, this could tell about the same as the comp tests
