No major faults to report. However the RMS may be faulty as with previous models whoch is not terminal meaning will not cause a major catastophe down the line ( as per my Porsche dealer at Guildford, Surrey). Its £1k fix. Other than that bullet proff if service histor is up to date. ENjoy.

Air bag warning lights appears on the dash board every time I turn on the ignition on my 1998 Porsche Boxster

You need to have the airbag serviced as there is an error somewhere. it also means that the airbag will not deploy in an accident, so you should get this looked at by someone with experience troubleshooting airbag problems asap.

29,000 with engine blown?

Unfortunately, because of the age of the car, Porsche won't take any responsibility. But, yes, this was a big problem with all the early Boxster and 996 engines. The cylinder liners have air bubbles in the casting causing them to break and chunk apart. When the cars were new, instead of recalling them, they just paid for brand new engines for the ones that failed. But, for the people that had a weak motor and didn't put many miles on the car until it was much older, once the engine blew, they were out of luck.
