Check your radiator fluid level and the fluid level in the Overflow tank. Make sure the radiator is full and the over flow bottle is filled to the full mark. After doing this if the light continues you will need to locate and replace the fluid sensors.

Driving today up a hill and yellow engine light came on speedometer solid color no blinking. I may have kicked it into neutral but not sure maybe was stuttering.

Best bet is to use a data link to read the code. First thing I would do is to check my coolant level. It is not uncommon to be low on coolant and when you go up or down hill depending on where the coolant sensor is located it could be just low enough the change in angle would move the fluid to one end of the resevoir and throw a low coolant light which could cause a car to go into limp mode until the coolant leveled back off.

Low coolant light blinking but the coolant if full. Can I still drive it?

Yes It's okay to drive. This is possibly from the coolant recevoir.
check the recevoir anf fiill to level. It might be a switch there.

2000 vw beetle 2.0 L, low level coolant light...engine mil code 1256

not the pump but air in the system or a broken wire to the coolant level sensor
that sensor at the top of the radiator tank has to be completely immersed in coolant or the circuit is broken and the light comes on
same effect id the wire to that sensor is broken in the insulation

2001 Monte Carlo has about 168,000 miles on it. Stopped for awhile left engine running and car smelled like gas (propane like smell). Recently "low Coolant" light has come on and then gone off...

Some of these issues are unrelated. One thing to look at is the condition of the turn signal switch and the ignition switch. The low coolant light has a TSB from Chevy on the issue and it says to check and clean the sensor. The sensor is on the radiator and has to be removed. The sensor can become contaminated with engine oil, check for oil in the coolant if that is present then you need to find the source of the oil and correct the problem. This problem could be serious like a head gasket issue. That would explain the loss of power and the smell.

Low coolant light comes on and stays on while driving. coolant level is good. the car doesn't overheat. do i need to replace the coolant tank or can I continue to drive the car with the light on?

Hi, the likely problem is a bad level switch/sensor on the reservoir. Try disconnecting the sensor to see if the light will go out. If not, the problem is in the wiring. Either way, there is no harm in driving the car with the light on.

The blinking is a single that continued driving without fixing the problem may ruin the emission systems and the motor itself. It needs to go to a qualified repair shop to be checked out.

Mazda protege 99 o/d light starts blinking and transmision goes to 4th gear. What causes the o/d to start blinking

This is just a guess, but my Mazda o/d light was blinking and it was the transmission overheating. It didn't hurt mine. Coolant was getting low in the radiator. But the engine was not overheating. It was highway driving.
