Many people have trouble starting the mini. Once my girlfriend almost missed her flight because she couldn't get the rental started.

That being said, here are some easy fixes:
1. Make sure your foot is on the break when you try to start it. The car won't start without foot on the break.

2. Replace your battery: batteries don't work well in cold weather, old batteries work worse. Try jump staring your car, and/or call AAA or someone to come replace your battery. They are pretty cheap, and the toe truck guy will replace if for you.

3. Other than that, ask a pro?

Starter just clicking

It clicks repeatedly while holding the key in Start, or just clicks once?
Sounds like the solenoid for the starter is kicking in, hence the click noise, but the starter itself is either stuck or dead.

The battery light does not necessarily indicate a problem with the batteries but does warn you if there is a problem with the charging system.

The likely scenario is that the alternator has gone bad. You will need to charge the batteries or jump start the vehicle and with it running check for voltage at the battery. You should see more than 13.5 volts and ideally somewhere around 14+ volts. If you see anything less than its likely the alternator has gone bad.

LIGHT WORK RADIO WORKS, CAR CLICKS WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY. COULD IT BE THE 4YR OLD BATTERY

if the blinkers are flashing like normal speed then most likely no. Try cleaning the battery. If still clicks you prabably have a bad starter.

Trouble starting and blinking dash

I had exactly the same problem this morning after returning from the store. I replaced the OEM battery with an Optima Red Top Model 25. Problem gone. Chrysler OEM batteries rarely last more than three years. You don't need to buy an Optima, but they do last a long time.

Good luck....

if you removed the dome lightbulb then there is no longer a draw from the battery there but if the ashtray light light does not go out then over a period the battery will go dead or drained to the point to not the vehicle

1991 ford ranger battery light

bad battery module for the light or a dieing cell in battery

batterys can be tested and wont show a dead cell at all but you will be told that the battery good
most batterys are refurbished batterys sometimes getting the luck of a good battery is 50/50 chance

heres a way to test the battery and alternator at the same time
start vehicle
disconnect battery positive post
if vehicle dies the alternator is at fault if vehicle doesnt die its the batterys life dead cell
