How do I find the fuse for the heater blower

IF the heater fan is not working it is most likely the heater fan motor that has failed.

Replace the blower motor. The brushes wear out. Any autoparts store has them. About 100 dollars

How do i fix a heater in a 91 jeep cherokee laredo?

fails on high, need this first.....@!!!!

if it fails on high then you hot wire the blower,

does the blower work with 12vdc applied to it, unpugged?

very old car.

use alldata.com to get the FSM data. and schematics.

got 12v below.

the switch bypasses the resistor block on high, so high is first

use a 10 buck DMM volt meter at walfart.

got 12v to the blower?

got 0v on that blower bottom pin?

if yes, the blower is dead

if not, then the fuse is blown, (use a voltmeter) or the switch left is bad. (or any wire bad end to end)

to check a fuse, check both sides key on, blower in, for 12vdc.

if once side is 0v, the Fuse is in fact bad. (acid test)

Blower motor does not work replaced the blower motor, resister, fan switch and relay still does not work

blower , heater dead.?
use a voltmeter, and find out what is wrong, in minutes.
first check voltage to the blower,
on fan high.
got voltage there. then the blower is bad.
no voltage there, then its not the blower bad. its controls or power feed.
my guess is you dont know that fuses that look good can in fact be bad.?>
old post. but here goes.
of lost, use a schematic, they tell you how the circuit works.
on TJ
then heater........
FSM
http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service

shows 7 things can be wrong. (omg what to do, use a meter)

now click A/C heater page.
same FSM.
got 12vdc to both JB fuse 8 and PDC fuse , keyon,
both sides of fuse must be 12vdc or the fuse is BAD.
got 12vdc to blower relay pin 1, (bad relay if not, or?)
if you have 12vdc on pin1 then then check voltage at
blower B wire,
if wires is at 12vdc that means the blower switch is bad.
if the wire to the switch C3 pin C is 12vdc that means the ground to the heater control is open. correct that
if the pin C3pin C is 0v, that is good, if switch is on high
and the C1 pin A is 12v, that means the switch is bad, or wires to it cut
or the connectors to IT are corroded.

just a $10 walfart DMM meter, and bam , why is know.
no guessing or pulling out hair.
as you can see the dash heater switch grounds the blower.
if it can not ground the motor, the motor will be dead.
that is how it works.

2000 escort diesel van.interior heater has stopped working, checked fuse and its not that.any ideas ? any thoughts.cheers

likely your blower motor. but take connector off at blower, key on, htr on high. should have power at connector. check with a test light. If power is present, its your blower. If no power, and fuse is good, it's a wiring issue or your heater blower switch on the dash.

Heater blower stopped working?

Hello,
You may want to try your fan on all speeds. If it will work on high, you have a bad resistor for the fan motor. ( high speed doesn't go through the resistor ).
If it doesn't work on any speed, I would check the following;
1. Make sure the fuse isn't blown for the fan blower motor.
2. Check, or have checked the wires between the fan control switch and the fan blower motor.
3. Have the fan control switch checked.
4. Have the fan blower motor checked.

I hope this helps you.

All the heater blower speeds work on my 1998 Suburban except the high speed. I have replaced the blower motor and the switch. What else could the problem be? I have seen some writings about a resistor but...

Hello Boco.

In your Suburban there is a high blower relay.
When the switch to high is selected it activates a relay to another circuit that is fused separately.
This fuse in under the hood marked blower fuse 3 which is a 50 amp fuse.
This is most likely the problem.
However, if it isn't then the problem becomes the relay, the switch or a broken wire.
If it isn't the fuse, contact me back here using comments and I will help you with the next step in fixing your heater blower.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Heater does not work

Check heater fuse.
If fuse good - could be a failure of the blower fan motor or blower control switch.
If fuse bad - bad blower fan motor could have blown the fuse.
DO: check fuse, then blower motor.
Pricing: new blower motor: Duralast PM270 $43.99
new heater control switch: Duralast SW229 $46.99 (without
A/C).
I'd expect your blower resistor to be good - when they fail, the blower only will work on HIGH setting.

Heater fan switch only works on high

could be the heater/ac controller head. This is the buttons and switches that you use or you have a bad heater blower. Check fuses and then the wire to the heater blower motor under the hood on the passenger side. Hope this helps
