I have a 98 suzuki grand vitara and the drivers side window has no power going to the switch. How do I test whether I need a new window regulator/new switch or if I just have a broken wire. There is no...

It will take some time but if you trace the hot wire inside the door back toward the fuse block you will probably find the problem there. You can also run a jumper from the battery to the switch and test it for proper operation. If there is no power at the switches the regulator is more than likely fine.

Don't know, maybe, but not worth all that work for the same
results, you need the window to work,so fix the problem

Replace power window assembly

Unless both rear windows had motor, switch
or regulator issues by themselves- which is
unlikely you lost both rear windows as a result

You need a wiring diagram to get a feel for
what your working with as far as control of
the electical to each door/window

Passenger window i need two parts to repair it ?

You will not know which is the problem until you get into the window. This is a pretty straight forward job, remove all screws holding the door panel on, some will be hidden behind plastic tabs. Take a door panel tool, about $5.00 at a parts store, work it around the panel to find the plastic clips, gently pry them up one at a time. Remove dust cover. You now should be able to see the regulator and the motor. If regulator is intact meter the motor. If the motor is not getting power the problem is the switch. If the motor is bad drill out the pop rivets and remove motor. I have found on some doors it is easier to use nuts and bolts to put the motor and regulators back instead of pop rivets, just make sure they will fit when everything goes back together.

Power window for elantra

Hello, I see you are having a problem rolling your back windows up or down. The wire you are speaking of is actually a cable. Once it comes or becomes loose there is no repairing the window regulators. These regulators are unrepairable. You are very lucky if your windows are staying up because when they usually break your window will fall. Thank you
