Need to get a key made for my truck - 2004 Ford F150

You need to see a locksmith or the dealer.

You need a new key, it will have to get towed to a dealer. Your car has pass lock and key will need to get programmed

You will need a trip to the your local parts store. You should be able to buy a brand new lock cylinder for about 15-20 dollars. Tools needed will be a socket set, steering wheel puller, phillips screwdriver, and a set of torques bits and driver. If you pull the steering wheel and unscrew the hazard knob and turn signal arm, then unscrew the turn signal switch you will be able to remove the mounting screw that holds the lock cylinder into the coulmn. install new cylinder and now you have a new key for the truck.

You will need to drill the guts out of the key cylinder to remove it without a working key. Have thress keys made so this never happens again.

your key may need to be re-programed to the car --- if you have both original keys then you should be able to flip both of them through the inginion and then the truck should start just fine,, but if one of the keys is a ' clone key ' then you are going to need to go to a automotive locksmith and have the keys and computer re-programed. do not go to the dealer -- they will charge you a lot more than the locksmith will. but try and flip the keys through first,, start with one key, put it in the ignition turn the key to the on position ( NOT start position ) -- wait a few seconds,, then put the next key in ( to the on position ) and wait a few seconds,, then got back to the first key and turn to the on position,, wait a few more seconds and the light should go out --- start the truck. again, you may need your trucks computer re-programmed and since you have the keys the cost will be cheaper than if you had no keys.

This is close to imposible, you would need a scan tool to reprogram a need chip code into the computer, now if theres no chip the power locks or the door lock should deactivte the alarm system, if you dont have a door key then you would need to remove the door panel and manualy turn linkake on the lock as if it were the key, but i think the 2000 had a key chip.

I had the same problem with a GMC recently. What I did was take the VIN to GM, and my registration for the truck, and bought a key code from them. Then I took the key code to a locksmith, and had a key made. That cost $20. I think the code was about $40. You should be able to do the same with a Benz. Good luck!

The 1999 F-150 has a PATS ( Passive Anti Theft System ), where te keys need to be programmed to the truck.

For the owner to do this, you need 2 keys ( not 1 key and a clone of the same key ) or you need to have a higher end mechanic / dealer or a PATS programmer locksmith to program the new keys.

The truck basically thinks it is trying to be stolen, and the PATS system is stopping it.

you should be able to get the key alone from your dealer if not try getting one at home depot or lowes the have keys with transponders

2007 came both ways...contact your dealer and they can tell you which key you need by the vin number. if it is a chip key they will need to program it to your truck anyway
