If it has the 3.4 V6 in it, then the low side where you add the freon is on the passager side behind the motor.

The front air blows cold but the back air is blowing hot

Low on freon. It needs to put on a set of gauges at minimum to check. Just adding freon, does't always fix the problem. To much freon, you will start blowing seals or lines.

How do i find blockage in air conditioner hoses after freon added and gauges dont register that there is freon

Did you try to add freon because is was no longer blowing cold air? Who added the freon local repair shop or A/C specialist?

Will no freon prevent me from adding freon if the compressor wont engage without it

Sort of.
If the system is empty, you would need to jumper the low pressure switch to power the ac clutch to put the first can or two of freon in.
Keep in mind the system is supposed to be vacuumed out before adding freon, so if it is full of air you won't be able to put the full amount of gas in.

HI MY NAME IS TONYA WE HAVE A AIR CINDITIONER PROBLEM COMPRESSOR WAS MAKING NOISES LIKE SQUEAKING SO WE GOT A NEW COMPRESSOR, EXPANSION VALVE, ACCUMULATOR PAG OIL46 (10 OZ) 134A FREON (4 CANS) REMOVED...

HI there #1 before you put freon in did use a vacuum pump and pull too the right vacuum
specification if not you have air in the system.
#2 if you put 4 cans of freon you over charged the system must vehicles a/c systems use 1lp 5oz
you must remove freon first and use vacuum pump and put system in vacuum for abut 1hour
too mack shore system is air and muster free.
ones that is don you can charge system be careful not too over charge OK

good luck

When i turn on my air conditioner in my 1999 durango it blows out hot air. can i put in antifreeze myself or do i need to take to the dealership?

Antifreeze is only for the radiator, does not affect the air conditioner, make sure you have the setting on cold, if it is still hot than take it to your local air conditioner re gas station, most auto electricians do it, dealerships usually send them out which you end up paying extra for!!! You just need a re gas in your air conditioner.

My air conditioner is not blowing out cold air. How much freon do I put in a 2000 GMC Sonoma ?

That all depends how much freon it still has in the system, best way to check is with some a/c gauges, if you put to much it will not cool or could damage some thing, and if not enough will not cool right, used a/c gauges for right amount of freon, now if the a/c system is empty it takes 1.88lbs of 134a freon.
