Description : The adaptive fuel Strategy continuously monitors fuel delivery hardware. The test fails when the adaptive fuel tables reach a rich calibrated limit. Now that we have an Idea of what the codes mean , we need to narrow them down. More than likely the problem is causing both codes to set. Keeping this in mind, lets concentrate on Code PO1309. Of the possible causes listed above I see two Sensors that may throw up a lean code. I would look at the MAF Sensor first and then the Temp Sensor. You may find that if you remove the internal Sensor from the MAF Case that some degree has collected on the thin wire. If you find debree, use a Q-Tip to clean it. DO NOT USE CHEMICALS TO CLEAN IT. If no debree is found, try a Known Good MAF Sensor. Still no fix, move on to testing the rest of the Sensors on the list till you find the problem. Keep in mind that the check engine light will have to be cleared after you have fixed the problem.

Error codes PO171, PO174 on 6.0 2004 silverado, what are they?

P0171 means: System too lean (Bank 1) P0174 means: System too lean (Bank 2). Sounds like your injectors are not getting enough fuel.

Look for vacuum leaks, that are causing the O2 Sensors to go lean, and set codes on both banks

Check engine light with codes po171 po174

Both codes are system too lean bank 1 & bank 2. Most likely a vacuum leak. Check all vacuum hoses for broken, kinked, collapsed or missing.

2003 Ford Ranger 4x4 extended cab- diagnostics checked and got these codes- P0171, P0174, P0300, P0316. Can you tell me what they mean?

P0171------ system too lean bank#1
Po174------ system too lean bank#2
For these 2 codes, try cleaning the maf sensor (mass air flow), that is mounted in the big black hose that goes from the air filter housing to the throttle plate, if it is dirty, that will cause those 02 sensors to send a signal to the computor to lean the air fuel mixture. If cleaning it doesn't work, the sensors will probably need changing.
P0300---- Random/multiple cylinder misfire
P0316---- Cylinder misfire at start up---- first 100 revolutions.
On those 2 codes, you have to do some testing to find out why there is a misfire.
Possible causes:
dirty/malfunctioning injectors
weak coil pack
fowling spark plugs/wires
Low fuel pressure

1995 Windstar OBD II showing codes PO340, PO171, and PO174

Hello;
With those codes, the first place I would check is the fuel pressure. Also check the fuel filter and replace it if you haven't already. Then clear codes and recheck. Even if your fuel pressure is with in range it still may not push enough fuel to operate your vehicle.
