The fuel filter on that model is not owner serviceable and is in the fuel tank.

Best time to change a fuel filter?

fuel filter replacement period is in the owners manual and depends on fuel quality and driving conditions
if you get water in the fuel , it should be change immediately, even if it was just done
dirty/dusty conditions , change it more often
around now would be a good time to change it and then under normal conditions again at 100.000 miles

Susan; It could be one of three locations, under car along frame rial, under hood engine compartment mounted on fire wall, or under hood mounted near shock tower. below 2nd link shows the filter assembly and partial harness to help identify location.

Shop manual for 2005 Santa Fe 3.5L shows a fuel pump filter in the tank & a standard cylindrical fuel filter outside the tank. Manual states change the "fuel filter" at 45000 mi. Can't find outside...

Change to Exterior filter not the tank filter. The in tank filter is actually a sock located on the Fuel Pump in the tank. This is rarely a problem. The exterior filter is going to be in-line most likely on the passenger side of the vehicle toward the rear. Easiest way to locate it is to trace the fuel lines back tot eh front of the vehicle from the fuel tank.

After how many miles should you change fuel filter, jeep cherokee

The information for this should be in your owners manual. If you don't have an owners manual I would call a dealership and ask them. Different engines require different maintenance. I personally change mine about every 50,000 miles in my gasoline vehicles.

How often do you change a fuel filter ? on average?

The schedule for changing the fuel filter is in the owner's manual. With most vehicles, every 80,000 km is a good interval unless the fuel in the driving area is generally of low quality.

Some vehicles get by with never changing the fuel filter.

I've changed many and have never seen it make a difference.

I changed fuel filter, fuel pump, runs go for a minute then acts as though its running out of gas again boggind down in park

Try changing the fuel filter but use the repair manual to depressurize the fuel system before attempting the replacement, gas in the eyes is dangerous and painful. I suppose you could let the car sit for 4-5 hours and it will be safe to change out the filter.

Location of fuel filter on a 2001 audi tt quattro

On a 2001 Audi TT Quattro the fuel filter is located forward of the fuel tank, in the right rear wheel well area. The fuel line clamps are a bit tricky. The change will improve performance. The owners manual does not even list changing the filter. But do it! use a Fram, and it fit perfectly. Good luck.
