Question about 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

1 Answer

All brake lights quit working. Checked all fuses under hood and in the cab none are blown. Changed one of the bulbs just to make sure. Do you think it could be the sending unit on the brake pedal?

Yes,,,to check the brake switch just short it out with a wire that will put the brake lights on till you unhook the wire shorting it across

Have no signals and brake lights 3500 2007

Get a test light probe so you can see where power is getting to starting at the fuses under the hood. All the fuses there should have power getting to them even with the engine off.

Check fuses, bulbs or adjust brake switch (back peddal).

Do not have the lay out for the fuse box.my problem is the brake lights not working.changed bulbs and switch under the pedal.only thing i can think of is the fuse is blown

There is also a relay--probably in a relay box under the hood with other relays. It should click when you step on the brake. If not, replace it.

2001 S-10 No Tail/Brake Lights

Hello Dallas,

There is a possibility that both bulbs are burned out or the paste that GM seals the lamps sockets with is preventing a good connection between the contacts.

Remove the bulbs and test for power (with the brake pedal depressed or the running lights turned on.)

If your multi meter reads voltage, it's the lamps, if not...check for continuity on the brake light switch (connected wires removed.)
The headlight switch controls the running lights, the brake light switch controls the brake lights. Good grounds are also critical so make sure they have clean solid connections.

No brakes lights on 2000 Ford F250 after pulling trailer. Checked all fuses and are OK. Rear brake light above cab is working. Checked both bulbs also. Thanks Bill

Depending on where your truck was made you will either find the fuse under the gauge cluster or under the hood in the power distribution box. The fuse for the trailer lights is separate from the fuse for the truck brake-lights.

Brake light fuse keeps blowing Noticed our brake ligths were not working...checked the fuses under the dash and they were fine...checked under the hood and found one blown...replaced it and the brake...

Take a look at the wiring to the brake lights. It is quite possible that over the years one of the wires has rubbed against another enough to short out, causing the blown fuses.

My brake lights are not working I changed the bulbs and still there is no lights when I press on the brake . what else should I try?

iF YOU ALREADY CHANGED THE BULBS THE PROBLEM IS PROBABLE A BRAKE SENSOR SWITCH UNDER THE DASH LOCATED ON THE BACKSIDE OF THE BRAKE PEDAL LEVER IF THIS DOES NOT THEN CHECK YOUR FUSE BOXES
