You can no longer obtain R-12 type refrigerant for vehicles of that age. Do not use the "Over the Counter" type (recharge cans). They can cause component malfunction and will only last (if at all) for a very short period of time. If your system has not been converted over to R-134a, its time to visit your mechanic to have the proper conversion made.....Time to roll down your windows and get some natural AC going on :)

Have a 1992 toyota corolla. I put a can of freon in it for my a/c. It got cold for 2 days and then only just blow out cool air. What can be the problem?

air conditioning sytems are assembled with o rings at each connection to seal the system, as these dry rot and crack over time, they fail and cause leaks in the system. you added freon , but then it leaked out slowly over the next few days. a garage can inject colored dye into your ac sytem and find your leak, but it will cost you.

If you like doing your own repairs, I'd like to recommend having a Haynes service manual on hand; it will give you all the info you need to do home-based repairs:

We have a manual for each of our vehicles and even when a job is destined for a workshop, you can get a rough idea of how much labor it entails and therefore how much it should cost.

Sorry, was not available at your time. Since the blue light comes on, this tells me that the hi-beam fuse is good. Go to the pass side headlamp, and, behind it, remove the connector for the inop bulb, and remove the bulb. Examine the filament on the bulb. Is it broken in half? If so, you need two hi-beam bulbs. Get back to me if you need more info.
