Why does the reduced power light come on , then the truck stalls. If you pull over and shut down the engine and wait a 30 secounds the truck will restart and run fine until the next time you start the truck. The truck has 48k miles

Older dodges used to use a power loss light instead of a check engine light the light is probably a check engine light. The problem you describe sounds like a bad crank sensor I had on an 01 impala. Hope that helps

SOURCE: WHAT IS THE REDUCED POWER LIGHT ON AN 2005 CHEVY

It means that there is a problem in your throttle actuator control system. The PCM will limit power until the problem is resolved. You should probably take your vehicle to a GM Dealership for further diagnosis.

If by starter you mean the starter motor then they are always located between the tranny and the engine. You should be able to see it if you look where the two meet.

there's a fan solenoid behind the front passenger side kick panel. the panel pops right out. If you take it to the dealership, they'll fix it because it's a recall item.

Reduced power code comes up and my truck stalls.

I had the same problem, and the solution was cleaning the throttle body, it does need to be completely removed to be cleaned thoroughly. I just used some brake cleaner on a rag to clean off all the carbon deposits. A friend of mine who is a dealer tech had only seen this trouble code once, and this was the solution. So far, my light has not come back on and the truck is running alot better at idle.

you need to have the codes retrieved and see if you have a code for the throttle module or pedal position sensor, a common problem is the module on the throttle body, which requires throttle body replacement.
