Rod is usually under the hood attached to the front. The iron is usually under the seat.

SOURCE: how do i lower the

Ur jack is under the right rear passenger seat (the one that fold up) and to lower the tire you have to look under the trunk compartment. there is a little circle cut out of the liner. pull that up and there is the knob. happy hunting.

Fold back seat down where your scissor jack is located, use the same handle for the jack to lower the spare tire. The portal hole for that is just under back bumper or near license plate.

I cannot figure out how to get the spare tire down

look for a small **** in or above the rear bumper. if this is your situation, then a long rod should have been included with your jack. this is a common way to lower the spare on a truck-type vehicle.

if this is ****/rod set-up is the case, then you will have to insert the long rod into the **** until it comes in contact with a slotted bolt head (like a regular screw/bolt and a regular screwdriver). then, turn the rod (usually by attaching the protruding end of the rod to a square hole in the middle of the tire iron, and using the tire iron as a handle) and the chain which holds the tire in place should loosten, and the tire will decend.

Where do i find the location of the spare tire jack for my 2001 Suburban?

in my burb, the jack and all the components are in a compartment located between the 3rd row seat cupholder and the mesh/container compartment. it's kind of deep and it has a small indednt for a handle, lift that and it should pop right out, then you can undo the nut to release the jack and wheel chokes. then follow konkomados's steps to lower your spare at the back

Hello! Here is procedure to remove spare tire...Guru...saailer

  1. Park on a level surface and put on the emergency brake. If the car is near the side of a road, switch on the hazard lights.
  2. Locate the tire repair kit. It consists of a jack, a jack rod and a wheel nut wrench. In the regular cab, pull the entire seat bench forward. The tools are located behind the drivers seat. The King cab model has a tool case located directly behind the driver's seat. The Crew cab stows the tools behind the back bench. Pull the bench forward and remove the tools.
  3. Insert the square end of the jack rod into the square hole in the nut wrench. This gives the jack rod a handle.
  4. Find an oval shaped hole in the back of the truck under the middle of the tailgate. Look through the hole and find the winch for the spare tire. It is a circle with two notches.
  5. Insert the T-shaped end of the jack rod into the hole. Slip the T-shape into the double notched circle of the winch.
  6. Turn the jack rod counterclockwise to lower the spare tire to the ground.
  7. When the tire is completely lowered to the ground, remove the center retainer chain and pull the tire out from under the truck.
  8. Wind the jack rod clockwise to completely retract the retainer chain

Do the new Sierra 1500 trucks 2007-2010 have a full size spare tire?

Yes. The spare tire is located under the bed in the rear of the vehicle. You have to use the handle of the jack to lower it down. There is a place in the bumper next to the License plate that you stick the jack handle in to lower the tire down.

I need to take down the spare tire

along with the jack and the tire iron, there should be another metal rod that will have sort of a square, hex, or star shape on one end (this may also be part of the tire iron). with the trunk open, look along the top edge of the bumper and you should see a hole that you insert the rod into and then crank it to lower the tire out from under the car

The spare tire will be under your car. Along with the jack and tire iron, there should be a rod that you slide into a hole on the top of your bumper with the hatch open. This rod lowers your spare tire from under your car
