This ball is part of tank you will have to replace tank what is reason for removing other than trying to syphon gas if so you can remove vent hose next to it and insert smaller hose and syphon removal of this check ball is dangerous because in the event of a rollover it prevents gas from running out causing fire

Could be a kinked hose. look under the fill tube to the tank. Could also be a stuck check ball in the tube. This ball prevents people from stealling your gas and gas spilling out incase of a roll over.

I have 2006 Lexus Lx470 with a problem which is plugged gas tank when filling the tank by fuel as fully loaded. Yet there is no gas. So what can be cause of this problem and help me!

These vehicles are equipped with a floating ball in the filler pipe. When tank is full, the ball floats to block the filler pipe, causing a vapor lock which shuts off the gas pump at the gas station. Try using an old car antenna to knock it free to see if it fixes it. If not the filler pipe will need to be removed and serviced.

Just took over the lease on a 2010 Lexus is250. Went to fill up with gas and it seemed full. In order to 'fill' with gas I had to stop and start and it took 15 min for 4 gallons. IF there is a...

Check the filling tube (or hose) going to fuel tank for damage. Could be the "ball" just inside the tank where the filling tube is attached. Its there to prevent fuel from draining out of the tank in the event of a roll-over.
Tap on the tank in the area around the filling tube with a rubber mallet. This should "unstick" the ball. They do sometimes get stuck and wont let fuel into the tank.

I cant fill my gas tank. the gas spurts out when I try to fill tank.

The only thing I can suggest is perhaps you are trying to fill the tank to fast or the nozzle is not in the correct position.
1. slow the fuel speed
2. move the nozzle to different depths

2001 Durango acts like the gas tank is full during filling cutting off the pump. The only way to fill tank is to pump gas really slow

Chrysler and Dodge have a fuel vapor filter that allows air out of the gas tank but filters the harmful fumes. Usually the problem happens from topping off your gas after the gas pump stops due to the automatic shut off and then putting more gas in the tank (to make the bill an even $50. or to the next $5 increment, or pumping more in just because it fits). Anyway the filter gets saturated with gas, is not able to breath, and causes a vacuum in the tank. Because of this, the anti-siphon ball is not able to float around and sits at the opening of the fuel fill tube and won't allow any more gas to be put in (acts like the car is full). If you pump super duper slow like put a nickel to hold the gas pump handle, it will trickle in without a problem, but it takes forever! Solution, get the filter replaced and don't over fill the tank.

Cannot fill truck with gas.the gas pump will shut off no matter how slow i try to fill the tank.

there's a ball in side the filler neck, if that ball stuck gas will push upward and cause the pressure to shut the pump.
you can remove the filler neck to inspect for the ball stuck in there

does your car run fine on the 5 gallons you stick in each time? if so I would say that your fuel pump is ok. I would take the tank out and see if there is some obstruction in the fill tube and tank orface, also look inside the tank for any floating debris, check and or replace the tank vent

Filling the gas tank 2000 chevy impala

make sure that the little hose is clear of any restrictions and you can blow through it this will be the vent tube for the fuel tank. there is also a check ball that may be lodged in the tank and it is located in the tank right where the fill tube connects to the tank. you should be able to disconnect the tube and move it around with your finger. thanks and keep me updated or if you run into a problem
