My air conditioner is blowing hot air, where is the port so that I can add refridgerant?

The charging port is located in the larger of the two hoses/lines that come from the AC compressor, the fill port will accept only the right fitting from the charging source hose fitting. Before you add refrigerant you need to locate the leak, the refrigerant doesn't just disappear, it leaks out somewhere.. My guess would be the AC compressor front seal.

It is on the silver tube that runs from the rear of the engine compartment out of the firewall. If you trace it the whole way, you will find it. It may be very close to the AC compressor.

I am trying to locate the port for ac refrigerant on a 2002 ford focus

To add refrigerant to your A/C system, remove front passenger side tire, remove plastic inner liner of whel well ( I only removed the torx bolt that holds it to the fender and folded it back) There is a silver canister there with a small tube with a black cap, that is the low side where the refrigerant goes. Get the hose attachment wit a gauge so you don't overfill, and a can of r134a, I used duPont Suva, and follow the directions on the hose attachment. Cost around $35USD total and about 45minutes and I now have cool air blowing.

Put some ac dye in the system.Which you can buy in stop leak cans from your local parts store. You have a pretty big leak from what it sounds like. The dye will show up were the leak is.

Air conditioner does not blow cold air

if it's not cold, then the refrigerant has leaked or it's low. A local shop can evacuate the system and check for leaks prior to filling with refrigerant. They can easily locate leaks in hoses, fittings, etc...
It's quite possible that there isn't any leaks may be low on refrigerant, but it's best to check...saves $.

Where do you add refrigerant to a 97 sho?

The high pressure port is in front of radiator fill reservoir. The low pressure port is located by the passenger strut tower.

i wont start untill it sees substantial amount of pressure in the system try locating the ac pressure switches, should be one or two of them on the ac line unplug them and jump them with papar clips dont run for too long without refrigerant or you will damage the compressor and be sure the compressor came filled with oil or fill it yourself -jeff
