SOURCE: Right lower ball joint. Torn loose

If you torn the ball joint out, you very well could have more damage.
If you plan on doing the work yourself, I would put the car up on stands, and take the front wheel off, and do a through examination of the whole assembly.
Once you have a complete assesement of all of the damage you can go to your local parts house and get the parts.
If you have to replace the lower arm, you will need probably need some specialized tools (like a spring compressor).
After you're done changing parts, you will need to get a front end alignment.

if you have some mechanical knowledge, it is not really difficult.  It is just time consuming.  Pick up a Haynes manual and they will give you a step by step with pics in doing this.

Zerk fitting locations on 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis

There may not be any. Most manufacturers are putting 'permanently lubricated' joints in the front suspension for upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, and control arms. Also for universal joints in the drive shaft(s). If you have had replacements for any of these components, they may have a zerk fitting, and it will be located right on the joint being lubricated.

How to replace a lower ball joint on 2004 mercury mountaineer?

Remove the brake caliper by removing the two bolts that connect it to the steering knuckle. Remove the lower ball joint cotter pin and retaining nut. Pry the steering knuckle up and away from the lower ball joint. Unscrew the grease fitting from the bottom of the lower control arm. Press the lower ball joint out of the control arm using a ball joint remover set.
Press the lower ball joint into the control arm using a ball joint installation tool. Remove the block of wood supporting the upper control arm. Install a new cotter pin through the ball joint stud.Install the grease fitting on the bottom of the ball joint. Use a c-clamp to push the piston back into the brake caliper. Reinstall the wheel assembly. Here you can find the quality parts

How to change lower ball joint on 95 mercury you have to take lower countrol arm off to get ball joint out?

i would replace the whole control arm because the bushing are probably worn out too and it's easier than pressing out the ball joints. make sure you have a spring compressor tool when you do this or you could get seriously injured

Diagram to change out the lower ball joints in a 97 mercury mountaineer I was told by the machanic that my lower ball joint on the left front side needs to be replaced. My truck is making a buking noise...

You need a portable press to remove and install ball joint. If you a r e not a mechanic you might be taking on a bit much. There are videos showing how to do it on Utube and many auto parts stores will lend you the ball joint press kit.. Good luck
