If you just want the light off, just unplug the elec. harness connector from it.

How to reset low coolant sensor

If the low coolant light stays on and the coolant is full, you can usually tap/shake the coolant reservoir and the sensor will start to float again turning out the light. Without year/make/model this procedure is most common

Why is my1997 chevy lumina low coolant light is on and the radiator is full of coolant ?

In most newer chevys, the coolant reservoir is part of the pressurized system. Rather than just holding overflow coolant and relying on the radiator pressure cap to draw from and expel to the reservoir, it is an active part of the cooling system. On these systems, there is a coolant level switch in the reservoir. This will activate if the level in the reservoir gets below a certain point. So it is possible to have a full radiator and still get a low coolant light. Be advised that as the reservoir ages and get stained, it is not uncommon for the low coolant sensor to give false indications of low coolant.

Low coolant light stays on, coolant level is full

Check coolant level sensor, sit in the coolant resv. tank has two wire that go to it, tap on tank see if light goes off, if it don't replace sensor easy to do, part run's about $12.00 - $20.00, part # FLS609 at NAPA. Hope this was helpful.

Low Coolant Light Staying on

This car has sensors on it. If the coolant tank is full and the system is working properly, then one of the sensors is bad.

Have the cooling system presure tested to make sure you have no leaks. If test is good, then look to the sensors.

GM has different systems for each car depending on configuration, so it is hard to point to the one that may be bad.
