Rocker panels are rusted out

It won't be cheap. The rusted panels have to be cut out and new sheet metal welded in place. Most people just live with it.

I have a 95 4runner 6v fuel is leaking under the back right side after pumping full tank. Why? What could the problem be?

Hello, You need someone to go beneath your car to check this out. You can have a rusted gas tank, a bad gasket on the fill tube or the vent tube could be bad.

There are metal clamps on many of the hoses in the fuel system. Your car is 16 years old and a clamp could have rusted off. There is the possibility of GAS theft if you have a locking or latched fuel door on the vehicle. Someone could have puntured the gas tank and left an open hole in it.

If that is found to be the cause, contact your car insurance company about theft damage to your fuel tank. Your comprehensive insurance should cover all or part of it.

Can't pump gas in my tank went to 3 drifferernt gas stations due to senors that wasn't it.. hose down no blocking found... some one said air can't exit try to get that out but no money to pay...

Sometimes that little metal flap that was covering the hole where you put the gas can break and fall in. causes a blockage. Another thing, i used to have a Buick Regal that i had to hold the gas nozzle hard to one side and pump really slowly to get gas in. If all else fails, get a 5 gallon plastic gas can, fill that up, then poor it down your car gas tank. Alot of work, but its cheap.

I have rusted metal of the undercarriage of a 2002 ford escape xlt on the side where the gas tank is located, this metal started to hang down, and a piece of metal came off....is this safe to drive, until...

Yes it should be OK. Just as long as none if it is touching it rubbing the lines or tank if it is you need to remove the piece that is. This will be ok till you get it into a body shop to fix the problem. Also if the tank is loose dont drive it because the tank might fall out but it is rare but it does happen..

The metal cover on my gas tank is falling off my car and it is dragging. What is that part called? What should I do?

Hello, It is a heat shield for the gas tank. You might try a muffler shop and see if they can repair it and re install it. You really need it as the gas tank is plastic. If they can't repair it you should replace it. Any GM dealer should be able to order a new one or you might can get one from a recycle yard.

How to clean rust from motorcycle gas tank

To remove the loose rust fill the tank to 1/4 of its capacity with small pebbles and shake it. To remove the rest fill the tank up to 1/10 with rust converter solution and slowly rotate it to cover all the rusted parts for at least half an hour.

Would the customer have to pay for a new fuel tank which rusted out due to the faulty design on the sending unit?

unfortuenetly yes. i have had the same problem but with an older vehicle. there was a lip between the tank and a bracket with builds up dirt and rusted the lip. however, being poor and not wanting to replace it there is a quick and SUPER cheap way to make it last for 5 or more year. If its just pinholl rust spot, you can clean up the metal and apply a compound call ed Seal-All. cover an extra inch around the rusted area. this stuff wil start to dry almost immediately. when its still a bit tacky, put a pice of cloth (fairly thin) either flannel or cotton over top and make sure its stick. then one dry, put another layer of seal all over top of it, making sure to rub it into the cloth and make sure that you cover an extra inch past the cloth area. this is what i did for my tank and its still hasn't leaked a drop in over 2.5 yrs. my friend did his and his is running on 6.5 years

hope this helps.. good luck

1986 GMC Safari Gas Guage Stuck on Full

Your fuel sending unit is bad. This is an electronic component inside of the gas tank. Many times the metal bar will rust and get stuck while there may be nothing wrong with the actual electronics, which is what it sounds like you have here. There is no cheap alternative to fix the problem correctly, however you can beat on the outside of the gas tank and it may free up the arm that is rusted.
I hope this helped, please remember to rate this answer.

Inline fuel filter

The fuel filter assembly is inside the gas tank. Don't touch it. I have an expensive manual on the car and the procidure involves by the way lifting of the whole car and slowly (on a jack lowering the gas tank). I was quoted a price for the laber from a suzuki dealership 400-500. Must be done every 120k miles.
Why? Cause your tank fills with rust
Does it accumulate from staff coming from the gasstation? No, it is your own tank rusting, being eaten , and palstic seals on your fuel pump also, by ethanol from the cheap gas you have been using.
I excuse you since I myself didn't know about it, and I also have the same problem.
When you give the car to the mechanic , much better to a Suzuki dealership ask them!!! also to change the gas tank air filter.
What? Airfilter in the tank? Why change it?
The manual says so, and ... by the way that cheap gas with the ethanol may have something to do with it, aaa... like ethanol being part of the alchochols and evaping way too fast in a sommer day.
If you don't stop using gas with ethanol, then... you are eventually in for a bill over 1000 for including new fuel pump, that you also can not install yourself.
