Question about 1998 Nissan Altima
These tensioners are usually spring loaded if there is a visible nut that holds the tension wheel on try using a spanner & pull it away from the belt, if you can't see a nut use a mirror & look inside the tension wheel it may be there......hope this helps....cheers
