Check and make sure that nothing has built a nest in the air intake both before or after the air filter. also i know here in tn. if a vehicle sits for an extended amount of time dirt dobbers build nest everywhere it could be possible one could have built a nest in the throttle body not allowing air to pass through the iac valve. i would also check fuel pressure if there appears to be no blockage in the air intake

2005 Dodge Neon - Intermintently for 7 months the car won't start. The engine tries to turn over but will not start unless I give it gas. Has been into dealer 4 times and they first did a tune up, then...

I say dont accept vehicle back form the dealer, till its right. Sounds as though the throttle position sensor orMAS is bad. The dealer really should be able to fix it.

My toyota hilux surf 1992 auto, 3L 4x4, keeps cutting out when i put it in reverse and drive. sometimes it will go for a couple of minutes then just cut out randomlly. whats wrong with it and how do i fix...

Sounds like the idle is too low. This could be due to a bad vaccuum line or a faulty IAC if this car has fuel injection. IAC = Idle Air Control motor. Check for loose or broken vaccuum lines first. If no vacuum are bad and you can keep the car running by keeping your foot on the gas a little and dies when you let the gas pedal up then I would think the IAC is bad. A poor idle can also be the result of a long overdue tune up.

I have a 1981 ford granda will start but i have to keep my foot on the gas or it will die what should i do?

If the car sat for 3or more months the gas may have left residue in the carb plugging the idle jets.It will probly run as long as the rpm is kept high enough to stay off the idle circut. the carb must be disassembled and cleaned.I'd also change the fuel filter.

1997 nissan sentra keeps dying

Check distributor and fuel, when car dies check for what is missing when it won't start back up. It can be only gas or spark and trust me one is missing. Good Luck
