Question about 2003 Pontiac Grand Am

1 Answer

My pontiac won't start. Went to the store, and when I came out the car sounded like normal but would not start. Have been having a problem with the turn signal working on and off but don't know if this is related.

THE TURN SIGNAL ISSUEIS A BAD HAZARD SWITCH. YOUR FLASHER FUSE IS INTEGRATED IN THE SWITCH. U DIDNT INDICATE WETHER U HAD THE 4CYL OR 6CYL.

Oil light on car won't start

normally i would say if it ran low on oil and now the engine wont turn over, i would suspect internal engine damage. But, have someone check first to be sure it isnt something easy like a battery connection or starter

Hello I have a problem with my Pontiac 2002 Trans Am - Collector Edition. It does not want any more to start, there is the indicator SECURTITY which east lights, and since average making it...

Check the battery voltage with a multimeter. If the battery can't deliver a full 12 volts, the starter solenoid won't even activate. It may be that a cell went dead, causing a direct short inside the battery. Replace the battery if your battery is older than 3 years, or take it to an auto parts store to have it tested. The security light on is an issue many people have when the battery is low and the car won't start.

It is also possible that the security chip on the ignition key is worn. If it isn't making contact properly, the computer won't 'read' the resistor, and won't start. You will need to replace the key to see if this fixes the problem.

Just shut off the care returned 2 hours later no go got a boost went for a drive left the car running for awhile than it start to get like it was going to stall went on g=for a littlwe while than died....

Hi your problem sounds like the battery is gone and won`t take a charge. When your engine is running the alternator is supplying the electrical power to run the car ( and normally charging the
battery as well )
Even though it seems strange for the battery to go suddenly, it does happen.
How old is the bat. Most last about 5 years with normal driving ( batterys last longer if the car is used every day )
Anyway i hope i have been of some help to you.

I had my oil change the very next morning it would not start it tried when i first tried it now it won't turn over

Sounds like your battery is dead or altenator went out. Hopefully they didn't spill oil on your altenator. Many part stores will test them for free even in the vehicle. Normally there is no other way an oil change would have any impact on starting. I would suspect something happened where you took your car.
