2002 Buick Le Sabre - 3.8 Liter V-6 - Cruise on/off switch is on the steering wheel. Switch has a small yellow light to indacate off/on. It is lighted all the time, but can be made brighter or dimmer by operating the on/off switch. The cruise control does not work at all. Cruise control indicato light on instrument cluster will not light up either. Any ideas?

The switch is shorted to ground. Verify with a multimeter. But before take your precautions with the air bag in the steering wheel. Desactivate it before.

Not a Fuse. There are Small Bulbs on the Back of the Guage Cluster that Burn out Occassionally. You will need to Disassemle the Dash and Remove the Guage Cluster to get to these Mini-Bulbs for Replacement. Please Rate my Solution, I need all the Help that I can Get! Thanks!

SOURCE: Steering wheel lamps do not work (radio controls, temp, cruise)

The lights on the steering wheel are in the switches. To fix the lights, the whole switch needs to be replaced. Same thing goes for the Tempature Controls and radio. Overall, I think it would be very expensive to replace all of the switches to get the lights working. I have the same vehicle, and almost all of the lights are out.

I think the lights behind the gage controls are replaceable, although you still have to rip out most of the dash to get to them.

I have the auto-sense wipers, so I was leaving the wipers on all the time, and the would only work when needed. The bad part I finally found out about this was that while the wiper switch is on (even though they were not wiping), it caused all of the dash lights, switch lights and rear parking light to be on. I think this alone significantly cut down on the life of the bulb.

For now, I am just living without the lights. The temperature control is very expensive (just the part alone).

WHERE IS THE FUEL PUMP RESET SWITCH ON A 2002 BUICK LE SABRE

Only Ford products have an inertia switch.
If the pump does not work, you would need to check for voltage at the pump relay and the connector at the gas tank.

2000 Buick LeSabre's cruise control button won't stay engaged

We had the same problem and ended up replacing the switch. We used a small flat-tip screwdriver and lifted along the edge of the switch. With the switch removed from the steering wheel, we disconnected the wire connector and installed the new switch by reversing the order.

Buick Le Sabre 2000 Cruise will not stay on when pressed

Had the same problem..You do not have to pull the fuse 1st...I used a screw driver (handle with care) to get the switch out. Pay close attention to the way it come out because the wires are real short..When you get it connected you can just push it back into the hole without much problem

Replace Cruise Control Switch in Steering Wheel

I am describing the procedure for the "On/Off" switch, I did not try the one you mention. Buy the switch anywhere ( about $15 ), then use a sharp tool ( small knife, screwdriver, anything ) to gently pry the old one from its socket. It is not glued or screwed in or anything, just squeezed tightly in the socket. Once the switch is out, pull the cable, connect it to the new one, insert back in the socket and press gently. No force necessary, it comes out easily.
