Its on the side of the distributor its the gray rectangular box you need a special tool to remove the 2 screws its called a ford ignition module tool its a small socket with a knob on it most sockets are not thin enough to fit in the hole

1989 ford ranger location of ignition control module

Check for a Thick Film Integrated (TFI) Module attached to the outside of the distrfibutor with about an 8 wire plug on it. That is Ford's ignition module. My recollection is the two screws attaching it to the distributor are odd-ball 7/32 in. size. If the module is taken off, use special ford di-electric grease on the base before re-attaching. For heat dissipation.

Where is the fuel pump relay on a 1992 ford tempo?

The fuel pump relay is part of a large relay control unit called the IRCM (intagrated relay control module)

The module is about 6"x4"x2" and has gobs of wires (large retangular connector) coming out of it, the module is mounted on a bracket under the hood that is bolted to the top of the driver's side front strut tower, this module can be self tested by a dealer to see if it is bad, they seldom fail, I am a Ford dealer tech and have only replaced 2 in 20 years, Tempo does however have a fuel pump issue..

1989 ford tempo wont start

change the TFI ignition module if there is no spark. there is a special 5.5mm deep socket to remove the 2 screws. New heat sink compound paste must be applied to the mounting surface or it will not dissipate the heat and fail. That is usually the fault ,the paste dries out after many years.
